Wrestling On Earth Fantasy Draft: Round Three

      Brad’s pick: CHRISTIAN

      Brad:

Christian is a seasoned pro wrestler who has been involved in the pro wrestling business for over 10 years, during which time he’s been a top guy in both TNA and WWE. Christian has one of the most entertaining styles, that can go well with pretty much anyone he faces – I like to say he could give a broomstick a great match.

He is a multiple time world champion, has competed with the best in the business and is also a very good talker. In recent years, I feel he has never really been given the opportunity to shine in the long-term and I feel that Christian is the perfect guy to work with Daniel Bryan as top faces of the company.

      Tom’s pick: KEVIN STEEN

      Tom:

Everything Kevin Steen does entertains me enormously. His matches are always stand-outs – I can’t think of any ROH shows from the past few years where his performance wasn’t the highlight of the night, and even on the usually packed PWG cards, he manages to find a way to make his matches the ones I’ll remember. I don’t think there’s any wrestler at the moment that knows how to react and play off a crowd better than Steen, which give his matches a feeling of genuine spontaneity.

He’s also maybe my favourite colour commentator ever – hearing him point out his favourite and least favourite members of the Reseda faithful while commenting on PWG matches with Excalibur always makes me laugh. His side projects show have been excellent too – The Kevin Steen Show has quickly become the best wrestling interview series around, his YouTube Weekend Escapades series is an often hilarious but always genuine look at life on the road and even his Twitter is a constant source of enjoyment. Basically, Kevin Steen’s the best and I want to see him on national TV every week.

      Tim’s pick: PRINCE DEVITT

      Tim:

This amazing human specimen was a must for me. He’ll make the fans swoon with his devilish good looks. He’ll have the crowd on their feet for most of his great athletic matches. He’ll have some of the best heel tactics in all of my promotion.

Prince Devitt has been blowing up the NJPW scene and there is absolutely no reason he couldn’t do it here in America (and parts of Canada!) for my promotion. This was a great pick by me, if I may say so myself.

      typicalROHfan’s pick: SETH ROLLINS

      typicalROHfan:

I wanted to go young with at least two of my allotted three WWE picks once the big three were off the board. While very impressive in The Shield, Seth Rollins hasn’t scratched the surface of what he can do in WWE especially as a face. Whenever they end The Shield, heel Dean Ambrose vs. face Rollins could be something special. A match you can also see in my fantasy promotion!

It’s more secure to push young talent established in WWE than young talent from outside of WWE so going with Rollins and Ambrose is a safe way to invest in some young wrestlers long term. Most importantly, I would make the wrestling world a better place by allowing Seth Rollins to wrestle without pants.

      – If you want to hurl abuse at our draft pickers, you can find them on Twitter at @BradWardFGN@TomBlackett@TimWelcomed and @typicalROHfan. Please don’t though, they’re trying their best The fourth round will be posted next week!
