@TomBlargh is currently on holiday and while he WAS going to miss out on this one, his excitement for Owens/Cena (and having a spare few minutes/access to a laptop) meant he couldn’t help but get involved.

Miz TV with Daniel Bryan on the pre-show

      Joey:

Daniel Bryan and The Miz have always had great chemistry so this should be an entertaining segment. We’ll also get to see Bryan and get the latest on his condition which is hopefully good news.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Everyone laughs at Miz.

      Tim:

Daniel Bryan will be promoting his stuff but just seeing him makes me happy. Maybe he’ll throw some shade at The Miz because he’s just a goon.

      Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: We all end up pointing at The Miz for being a goon.

      Tom:

Miz is obnoxious, the commentators are idiots, Bryan is a sweetheart who does his best to promote his book and DVD without giving away too much about what the future holds.

      Interest Level: 8/10
Prediction: Daniel Bryan gives Miz a dry slap.

      Brad:

I think the idea here is that Daniel Bryan will be out to promote his new DVD and perhaps mention the book. We could hear something about his rehab, but quite unlikely.

      Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Daniel Bryan plugs his DVD.

Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. King Barrett vs. R-Truth vs. Ryback vs. Rusev for the Intercontinental Championship in Elimination Chamber

      Joey:

Elimination Chamber matches are very enjoyable live but you never really want to watch them in full again after that. The former is more important here. Not sure how excited I am about the competitors in this but they all have something to offer. Guys like Sheamus and Ryback should especially shine in the Chamber.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Ryback wins.

      Tim:

I was really hoping Neville would be in this as he would bring something fun to this type of match. They should let him take Rusev’s spot and boot Bo Dallas from the show and our eyes. I tend to get into Elimination Chamber matches during the moment but this is full of guys that are decent  (except for Ryback who is never decent) but I just can’t seem to get into. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Maybe I’ll cook me up some Totino’s pizza rolls for this one. I’m going to say they’ll put the ole strap on Sheamus here.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

      Tom:

I guess we won’t be seeing Rusev in this and, unless they replace him with Mark Henry, I’m not sure how into this I’ll be. I like Chamber matches but the current group of chaps vying for the Intercontinental title doesn’t feature too many of my favourites. So weird that Luke Harper isn’t involved, though I guess he could be shoved in there too.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: King Barrett wins.

      Brad:

I think this should be an overall very good match with the 6 guys in the match, Truth being the lesser extent of the 6, producing very good matches on WWE TV over the past few months. I think you rule out R-Truth , Ryback and Ziggler. So I think it will be either Barrett or Sheamus with the winner likely fighting Adrian Neville coming out of this match. While this match is not in the world title picture, I think it will produce some very similar results. I am going with Sheamus getting the title as I don’t see him close to the world title picture for quite awhile.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

New Day vs. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs. Los Matadores vs. Prime Time Players vs. The Ascension vs. Lucha Dragons for the Tag Team Championship in Elimination Chamber

      Joey:

This could be a clusterfuck with 6 teams as opposed to 3 but it will at least be a fun clusterfuck. Everyone in this match has something to prove in a rare showcase match for them. I’m hoping it comes down to New Day vs. Cesaro and Kidd as the final two teams for a good 5 minutes.

      Interest Level: 9/10
Prediction: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd win.

      Tim:

I am very interested in this absolute madness. I can see myself going through all of the emotions. All the way from laughing to crying, this will be a ride you will not forget. Maybe warm up a plate of Totino’s pizza rolls to calm your nerves during this one. I say put the belts back on Cesaro and Kidd and just have them and New Day constantly passing them back and forth all of the way until Wrestlemania. Lets do this.

      Interest Level: 8/10
Prediction: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd win.

      Tom:

What a mess this’ll be, I can’t wait. Just seeing all the lads squeezed into pods together is going to be fantastic, and the idea of as many as 12 lads running around inside the chamber at once is quite the proposition. Just imagine how many sheets of unbreakable Lexan glass will be demolished by my main man Cesaro tossing guys into them! Lovely stuff.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: The New Day wins.

      Brad:

I have really been enjoying the WWE tag team division as of late and it seems that the parodies that PTP were doing for almost two months had a purpose as it kind of ties this match together. I would really like to see Lucha Dragons walk out with the titles as a dark horse but the New Day have been really good with the titles with their new fresh coat of heel paint. In ring this will be one of the most exciting matches on the entire card, if not the most exciting. Going with New Day retaining even with all the odds against them.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: New Day wins.

      Bo Dallas vs. Neville

      Joey:

Neville is much better than I even expected he’d be on the main roster. Bo Dallas is lame as can be. The match should be okay. I wish he was in the IC title match but at least Neville will get a PPV win.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Neville wins.

      Tim:

Neville has been something to see since reaching the main roster. Bo Dallas has never really been that. These two had an okay ladder match at the first NXT special so maybe this won’t be too bad. At the very least it will give Neville a win and let him show off his moves for the crowd. Really not into them putting Neville with Dallas after some of the stuff he’s been doing.

      Interest Level: 4/10
      Prediction: Neville wins.

      Tom:

Is a Bo Dallas feud a stepdown for old Neville? Yes, but look, I still like Bo and I think this should be fun. Hopefully they’re not just spinning their wheels on Neville and they do have something decent planned for him in his next feud though.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Neville wins.

      Brad:

I wish I was a lot more excited for an Adrian Neville match but Bo Dallas kind of has been what he was for practically his entire run on the main roster. I loved both of these guys on NXT and I hope this program can really get the ball rolling for these two and I would be okay with a long term feud. However, I think Bo could be a one and done as Neville moves on to the IC title. Going with Neville getting the win here.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Neville wins.

Nikki Bella vs. Paige vs. Naomi for the Divas Championship

      Joey:

Nikki Bella and Naomi have been very good lately. Paige has been pretty disappointing, to be honest. I think the triple threat aspect will actually hurt these three as they don’t seem to have much chemistry as opposed to singular talent.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

      Tim:

I could do without Paige in this one as it’s been built up okay enough. Maybe they’ll do that at the next PPV. Naomi as a heel has been fun just in the fact that there is some interest in Naomi. She’s great. I bet Nikki leaves the victor though. She’s good enough, I guess.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

      Tom:

Kind of a bummer that this is a triple threat. I think the Naomi heel turn experiment is still worth exploring and I would rather have seen just her vs. Nikki. I like Paige, but I’m happy seeing her take a break from Divas title matches for a few months.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella retains.

      Brad:

While Paige hasn’t looked the greatest in the ring coming off her brief hiatus, I think the Divas will be looking to impress here. Nikki has been very good on live events and Main Event TV tapings, so I think this should be much better then many would give it credit for. While I think there is a good argument that Paige will take this match, I would say that it is about time for Naomi to get a run with the title. Nikki retaining is very possible as well and I would even be for it to. Going with Naomi winning the title.

      Interest Level: 8/10
Prediction: Naomi hopefully with a new finisher

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens for the United States Championship

      Joey:

This match is going to be outstanding. Both men have a history of stepping up in big match situations and this is the biggest match of Kevin Owens career. John Cena vs. former ROH champion also always tends to lead to great results so how can you bet against it?

My prediction is a bit of a bold one. I think an NXT wrestler (or a few) help Kevin Owens beat down John Cena as part of the start of the “big Summer angle” this year will be an NXT invasion of sorts to take down Cena.

      Interest Level: 10/10
Prediction: John Cena wins by DQ. Kevin Owens and NXT stands tall.

      Tim:

I’m very excited that a wrestler who deserves an impactful entrance into the main roster is getting that. Kevin Owens is truly something special. He’s likable on Daniel Bryan levels and yet can still play one of the best heels in the business. John Cena and Owens are the perfect foes. It is one of those pairings that feel like it could be a long-term rivalry. I could go on for days talking about how awesome it is that this is happening but I won’t. This will be great and reason enough to subscribe to the WWE Network for this show.

      Interest Level: 10/10
Prediction: Kevin Owens wins by DQ.

      Tom:

With wrestling the way it is, most main roster debuts seem to be very cautious affairs – guys like Rusev and Bray Wyatt both started in the midcard, and even though The Shield were immediately involved within main event angles, they were a unit so the spotlight wasn’t solely on just one of the guys. Kevin Owens’ first match is going to be with John Cena on PPV. It’s insane and fantastic and feels really important – they’re not fussing around with having Big Kev fight Fandango or Ziggler or even Orton, he’s getting Cena straight off the bat and it’s the most exciting PPV match for years as a result.

What makes it even better is that Cena seems to REALLY be relishing having an opponent like Owens, in terms of how good his promos have been and just the general feeling surrounding this match. Ever since Punk left, he hasn’t really had a “go-to guy” who he can always rely on for a solid feud and a great match, and I genuinely get the feeling that he might see Owens as a guy who could fill that role for him. Both guys are terrific when they’re on the top of their game and this should be something special.

      Interest Level: 10/10
Prediction: Kevin Owens wins via DQ.

      Brad:

Big Kev vs Big Match John in what I think should be a hell of match. What I love so much about this, is it is a fresh matchup with a simple yet effective build up. I don’t have to tell you that this match will absolutely meet and exceed expectations as there is no way that with John Cena’s ability to mesh with seasoned workers and Owens smash face style will create a fantastic chemistry between the two.

As far as where things could go, I mean we could be getting a long term program between the 2 culminating at Summerslam. This could be a set up for Cena’s next US title challenger as well. I think whoever wins here, I think this will set Owens up on a platform that will validate him as a top WWE superstar. This one is really a pick em, but going with things getting out of hand and Owens winning via ref stoppage.

      Interest Level: 10/10
Prediction: Kevin Owens via ref stoppage

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship

      Joey:

There’s less of a personal feud between these two like in the past but there’s a great history and outstanding chemistry. I’m hopeful for another stellar match between the two. With Seth Rollins getting ready to face Brock Lesnar when he returns, sliding Dean Ambrose into the short term title picture was brilliant. Some think Roman Reigns will turn on Ambrose here but I can’t see it. I expect him to attack Kane, Noble, and Mercury with Rollins getting the better of Ambrose in the middle of it all.

      Interest Level: 10/10
      Prediction: Seth Rollins wins.

      Tim:

Dean Ambrose has not been fun to watch in a long time. His character comes off ridiculous and unlikable to me and when it comes to matches he really hasn’t had anything stand-out to me since his previous match against Rollins. He’s been booked horribly and now he’s just in the title picture. That is really frustrating knowing he’s capable of so much more. This feud should have been more of a continuation of where they left off previously before Bray Wyatt decided to throw everything off with a hologram. YOU KNOW, THE NORMAL STUFF. Anyway, it is what it is and the match will be enjoyable, I’m sure. Rollins is exciting and perfect in his weasel-like heel role. These two work really well together.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Seth Rollins wins.

      Tom:

As much as I enjoy Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose has left me cold for months now. He seems a little lost as a mischievous, anti-authority babyface and while I do enjoy his wrestling, there are always a few moments of goofiness that break me out of really getting invested in his performances. I think this should be a pretty good match though, given how great these two have been in the past. However, I’m expecting all manner of nonsense at the end. I’m PRETTY OKAY with young Seth using the Pedigree as a finisher.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Seth Rollins retains.

      Brad:

Something about this combination has me really in a place where I am finding it very hard to care a lot about this match. I am not sure if it’s Ambrose being a contender out of the blue after just floating around in the low to mid card. Perhaps it is the Authority angle running its course, or perhaps Rollins finisher situation. These two have had great matches and okay matches in the past. With some pretty stiff competition, I would hope this drives them to deliver something similar to the rest of the card. No doubt though I think Rollins will get the victory here moving on to Lesnar at some point in the summer.

      Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Seth Rollins via a really bad Pedigree
