Top 10 Worst Wrestling PPV Posters
With the WWE Network debuting Monday, one of the first things to stand out is seeing icon images of all the wrestling PPV posters over the years all lined up together in the PPV archive section.
The bad, the very bad and the ugly, here are the top 10 worst wrestling PPV posters of all time:
10. Great American Bash 1996
Many people have this as the worst but there’s a certain charm to Bobby Heenan and Mean Gene having a cook-out that represents the mid 90’s in wrestling. The WCW-shaped meat is what’s most terrifying here. Also, Bobby Heenan does not seem to be wearing pants.
9. Royal Rumble 1998
I never understood this one, from the day I saw it in my childhood loving WWF Magazine to today. Why put thumbtacks in your head, Steve Austin? Only one of them is holding up the Royal Rumble banner! Was Steve forecasting the future of EXTREME and demanding CZW before it came to fruition?
8. New Year’s Revolution 2007
This one is just a scary insight towards the future of WWE. Around 2030, this is exactly how Triple H will look when running the WWE, most likely on television cutting long promos. Given Shawn Michaels is already balding, wouldn’t it have been easier to do opposite costumes?
7. Halloween Havoc 1999
WHY? Was WCW too lazy at this point than to make a hybrid animal/wrestler image? Was Wolfman Jack booked? Why is the animal’s tongue rolled?
Side note: We need TNA to make a Davey Richards/Eddie Edwards WOLF graphic for future shows.
6. Vengeance 2001
Step 1: Have a bloody nose. (Or is it bruised? Or is that just his face?)
Step 2: Lean on a sledgehammer.
Step 3: Pout.
This is how you play THE GAME.
5. SuperBrawl 2000
Booker T loved being a (five time, five time, five time, five time, five time) WCW Champion so much he decided to increase its size and make love to it for the purposes of promoting SuperBrawl 2000.
4. Spring Stampede 1998
What did WCW have against bulls? I can understand wanting the viewer to believe there’s no bullshit on the show but the sign really means “no bulls.” They would have to draw a circle and cross around bull feces to properly represent their train of thought. Also, there was a Baseball Bat On A Pole match on this show, further killing the “no bullshit” hope.
3. One Night Stand 2007
“Bobby, can you make a face as if you were really, really constipated? OK, guys. Zoom in as closely as possible. This is the face we want associated with the term One Night Stand!”
2. Summerslam 1993
Fat? Check.
From a country other than America? Check.
Let’s have Yokozuna threaten to drop his large caboose on an American flag!
1. Slamboree 2000
Nothing can top the Buff Bagwell duck face. I don’t care what other explanations you have. THIS is why WCW died.
BONUS: Survivor Series 2012
It’s The Miz doing Miz things.
