WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

WCW: The Comic (Issue Two, Page 10)

WCW: The Comic is probably the property of Marvel Comics / WWE, though I’m not entirely sure. This website makes no claims to own it; all panels and images are posted in the spirit of fair use and are the property of their respective owners and creators.

Tom: Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Sting:

And just like that, it’s over for the Stinger. Man, this is the weirdest match ever. You’ve got Lex Luger, dastardly heel that he is, overcoming the odds against two of the top faces in a pretty comprehensive way. Sure, he’s cheating to do it, but he’s not being THAT awful – it’s not like he even threw Sting into the exposed turnbuckle, he just moved out the way!

He also had to deal with interference from Ron Simmons on the last page, so Lex Luger is basically a Superman who knows when to take advantage of his opponents being idiots.

We then get a weird interlude from a surprisingly verbose El Gigante:

I say ‘surprisingly verbose’ because he’s actually speaking English. Wouldn’t it be easier to break a super tall guy’s bones? Because they’re longer and… uh… physics? Maybe? I dunno.

Anyway, it’s irrelevant because Lex’s final opponent is his old enemy, Ron Simmons. Will we see Ron get some justice for the brutal trophy crimes inflicted on him last issue? Find out on Monday!

@tomblackett is super into wrestling and comics. He also writes The Merch Table for this very website.
