This Or That (9/16/2014)
Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.
Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeySplashwater and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the
false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinionchance to join the conversation! Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:
Which wrestler are you more excited to see return from time off?
Daniel Bryan – 82%, Dean Ambrose – 18%
Which TNA free agent would you rather see return to WWE?
Kurt Angle – 76%, Bully Ray – 24%
Cooler Young Bucks move?
More Bang For Your Buck – 59%, Meltzer Driver – 41%
Better fall clothing item?
Hoodie – 91%, Scarf – 9%
Who will have more WWE World Heavyweight title reigns in 2015: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins COMBINED or Roman Reigns?
Is the future The Roman Empire or do the other Shield members have a chance to pass Reigns?
Tim:
As much as I like to hope WWE won’t stay the course with Reigns, I really think they are going to stick to it. Reigns will win the title at Wrestlemania 30 and hold the belt once or twice throughout the course of 2015. I am willing to bet that Rollins and Ambrose will never once hold the gold in 2015. My faith in WWE creative may be at or near an all-time low recently. Hell, we may even get a Big Show or Kane feud against Reigns. Exciting times ahead…
Roman Reigns
Joey:
My expectations are for plans to stay in motion and Roman Reigns will defeat Brock Lesnar to win the title at Wrestlemania. Rollins will try to cash in right after the match as his sell being that he wants “the Wrestlemania moment” over his ex partner but Roman will also defeat him to start his reign. (Pun intended.)
If anyone beats Reigns eventually afterwards, it will probably be Cena or Bryan. Those three and Brock are the four that will be title holders in 2015 as I see Ambrose moving down the card a little after his feud with Rollins ends and the same happening to Rollins eventually though both will have big roles. Sorry, Ambrosebuds. It’s sadly The Roman Empire in 2015.
Roman Reigns
Tom:
It’s really tough to imagine Reigns being given a long run as champ. If I had to guess, I think he’ll have it from around Wrestlemania to Summerslam, at which point the crowd will have turned on him to the point that he’ll drop it to Daniel Bryan (assuming he’s healthy), and then maybe we’ll get Bryan feuding with Rollins and Ambrose to make post-Summerslam WWE worth a damn for once. This is all dumb fantasy booking though, so shut the fuck up, Tom.
I dunno, man. It seems inevitable that Rollins will get a run once he cashes in the briefcase, but I really can’t picture him holding it for long or Ambrose being the one to take it from him. I’m desperately trying to find a way to say Rollins and Ambrose here! It seems unlikely, but you know what? I’m just gonna DARE TO DREAM TO BELIEVE that those precious darlings will find a way to overcome The Roman Empire.

More likely to be running shows this time next year: Global Force Wrestling or TNA?
Rumors look bleak for TNA. GFW is a mystery. Who is more likely to exist next September?
Tim:
TNA is poised to never go away and always be the worst no matter how long it stays functioning. I think they’ll get a smaller network to give them a TV deal and they’ll carry on in some state. Global Force Wrestling seems kind of like it’s just a glorified idea by Jeff Jarrett. There doesn’t seem to be any real moves being made public and quite frankly, I wouldn’t have enough hope in it to think it’d last long anyway. I definitely think TNA is more likely to be running shows this time next year. I don’t have any reason to believe Global Force Wrestling is a thing outside of a logo and a website.
TNA
Joey:
I think TNA will stay in existence even if it means a cheaper roster as I foresee them having a new TV show deal with a weaker network. It will probably be like the Fox Sports days but I don’t think they’ll fold just yet in 2015. At least, I have more confidence in them trying than I do GFW.
I’m not sure Global Force Wrestling will ever be a real thing. Justin Credible said in a recent PWTorch Q&A that he thinks “The Force” is just a money grab for Jeff Jarrett and I’d assume he has some semblance of an insiders perspective. Not to mention, common sense tells you that some information would have been released by now about the future of GFW.
TNA
Tom:
I’M GONNA GO WITH MY MAIN MAN ‘DOUBLE J’ JEFFREY JARRETT. Things are looking pretty bleak for TNA and even though getting a non-WWE wrestling product onto TV seems like a ridiculously tough prospect in 2014, I still feel like it’s more likely GFW will be running shows by this time next year whereas TNA might have given up the ghost entirely.

Better feud for Bray Wyatt going forward: Big Show or Dolph Ziggler?
Bray had a match with Big Show last night but rumors say his next feud is with Dolph Ziggler. Which is better for him?
Tim:
It’s hard to imagine a world where 2014’s Big Show going against Bray Wyatt would be anything but another momentum-stopping match/feud for Bray’s character. On the other hand, if Dolph Ziggler is still Intercontinental Champion and Bray Wyatt ends up winning that thing, we will most likely see Wyatt become even more stagnant. I guess a feud with Big Show would be the lesser of two evils because he wouldn’t be stuck with a belt that has him stuck in a rut for an extended period of time. I don’t know if a win over The Big Show would do anything for him but it would probably help how people perceive him more than a win over Ziggler.
Big Show
Joey:
The matches with Ziggler would be more fun but Big Show is the better feud. He’s higher on the food chain and is still viewed as a bigger deal than Dolph to the casual fan. If Ziggler has the Intercontinental title during a feud with Bray, I think that is a HUGE blow to Bray’s future. Wyatt is one of the few to have been made a big deal early and you can’t have him take steps backwards.
I see the IC/US title hurting his credibility if he ever does have a sustained angle revolving around those belts, let alone ever winning it. The mid-card belts are to help elevate guys get to Wyatt’s current level (which they DON’T do) and obviously Bray is already there.
Big Show
Tom:
OOPH. God, I don’t want either of these things. I think a Ziggler feud would get pretty painful because of Dolph’s desperate attempts at comedy clashing so badly with what Bray’s trying to do, but I really don’t wanna watch any long Big Show matches. Ziggler seems to at least get somewhat of a reaction still and Bray could do with a decent streak of good matches after so many stinkers, so let’s go with Dolph.
Dolph Ziggler
Better vegetable: Lettuce or broccoli?
Which green do you prefer?
Tim:
I like both but I use lettuce in and on so many things that I will have to give it the nod here. The crunch. The freshness. Salads are always a great go-to when I’m hungry. I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE CAN DISLIKE LETTUCE. What even is that?
Lettuce
Joey:
1. FUCK LETTUCE!
2. Broccoli is the best in the world.
3. If you support shredded lettuce, you are a jerk.
Broccoli
Tom:
I’m a big fan of broccoli, but the stalk bits are fucking bullshit. Just flat-out bullshit. Lettuce can be dreadful when it’s not crisp and all wilty BUT it’s deliciously crunchy generally. Give me a tasty Caesar’s salad or give me death.
