This Or That (9/11/2015)
Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.
Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeySplashwater and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the
false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinionchance to join the conversation! Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:
Did you like the finish to John Cena vs. Seth Rollins at Summerslam?
Yes – 53%, No – 47%
Better wrestler?
Sasha Banks – 76%, Finn Balor – 24%
Worse booking by WWE?
The Divas Revolution – 81%, Roman Reigns road to Wrestlemania – 19%
Which would you rather have as a pet?
Lizard – 52%, Alligator – 48%
Which Seth Rollins NoC match are you looking forward to more: Sting or John Cena?
Night of Rollins.
Tim:
I am really interested in what a Sting vs Rollins match in 2015 will be like but I have to say Cena vs Rollins is what I’m looking forward to the most. Their Summerslam match was great until that ending so hopefully this one can live up to that match and have a good ending.
John Cena
Joey:
I know the luster of Sting will be cool but the last John Cena vs. Seth Rollins match at Summerslam is one of my favorite live matches ever and left me wanting one more match. I’m expecting this to be the match that ends the feud with Cena winning the title back as the United States Championship is best suited with him.
Considering he’s winning and it’s the conclusion of the feud, they will likely go all out again with a satisfying finish this time so I’m looking forward to it more. I do have faith in Rollins getting the best out of Sting but I think it could easily be a hot mess. I also think Sting is winning the title for a short one month (or maybe one night) run as a way for WWE to get extra attention and build his value back up before WM btw.
John Cena
Tom:
I thought the Rollins/Cena match at Summerslam was absolutely terrific (yes, including the ending and THANK YOU FOR VINDICATING MY CORRECT OPINION, LOYAL READERS) but I’m still a little shocked that my brothers are picking their rematch over Rollins/Sting. Yes, the Cena match is pretty much guaranteed to be better in terms of actual wrestling, but the Sting match could have all sorts of bullshit (including the ongoing saga of Seth’s statue) and I’m fascinated to see how Rollins wrestles with a guy like The Steveman.
Sting
Who would you rather see Triple H wrestle at Wrestlemania 32: Seth Rollins or The Rock?
Who plays The Game in Texas?
Tim:
I get that The Rock is a huge deal but I can’t be interested in him having a match or taking up any TV time. I really don’t even feel nostalgic about him when he shows up anymore. The Rollins/Triple H match has a lot to work with storyline-wise and it’s a great way to turn Rollins face. I’m really looking forward to this happening, especially if Rollins gets to beat Triple H with the Pedigree.
Seth Rollins
Joey:
I would honestly be very excited to see either of these matches but I’m all in for nostalgia at Wrestlemania 32. The Rock vs. Triple H was one of my favorite feuds during my childhood and I’d be down for seeing them try to go at it one more time. My main problem with The Rock’s feuds with John Cena and CM Punk were that he seemed out of place and it was tough to get a good story going.
With Triple H, their chemistry is there and they have so many easy things they can use as a story to make it a big match. As much as I love him, I don’t think Seth Rollins will still be champion by Wrestlemania 32 and I’d assume he’d have already feuded with Triple H around Survivor Series or Royal Rumble.
The Rock
Tom:
Neither is particularly interesting to me, though like Joey (and I guess everyone, maybe?), I do have very fond memories of the Triple H / Rock feuds. However, I’d still rather see the Seth Rollins experiment continue with a Triple H Wrestlemania match. I don’t think there’s anyone as inconsistent as Triple H when it comes to a big match environment – he’s had some good ones and a few great ones, but there’s been an awful lot of clunkers too. I’d be interested to see what kind of a match he and Rollins would put together.

Better WWE signing: Rich Swann or Biff Busick?
Started from the WWN, now we here.
Tim:
I’m so happy for both of these wrestlers. Rich Swann is highly entertaining and has a long career ahead of him still. He’ll definitely be a fan favorite almost immediately. I think Biff Busick will grow into something special in the WWE system though. He can be a very diverse wrestler in the right situations and I think it’ll be very interesting to a where this path leads him.
Biff Busick
Joey:
If I were WWE, these would also be my top two picks from WWN/EVOLVE/Gabeland. I love Biff Busick and feel he gets unfairly paired with Gulak and Timothy Thatcher when people discuss that style of wrestling. Busick has more variety and can wrestle a match against any style and make it work.
However, Rich Swann is such a great prospect to invest in. The man is only 24 years old and already was one of the more promising and charismatic indie stars. For me, Swann is what most people believe Ricochet to be except much more likable with more depth. I’m expecting both to become NXT success stories but Swann to become a future NXT Champion and eventual WWE TV star.
Rich Swann
Tom:
I haven’t really paid much attention to Biff Busick over the years so I don’t really have any strong feelings regarding his signing (lol soz), whereas Rich “The Black Chris Jericho” Swann has stood out as an incredibly likeable and almost effortlessly talented guy for years now. It’s insane that he’s only 24! The story of where he came from is great as well and makes it easy to root for him to succeed. NXT seems like it’s going to get pretty crowded in the coming months, but I hope he gets the chance to stand out.

Superior buffalo wings: Bone-in or Boneless?
The Twitter debate comes to WOE.
Tim:
Are we really doing this? Are we going to go down this road right here? Alright, then. I WOULDN’T HAVE A FUCKING BONE IN ANY FOOD IF I HAD MY SAY. Why have a bone if you could NOT have a bone? Bones make things so much more messy and they’re just the most inconvenient thing. Look, if you hand me a wing with a bone in it, sure. I’ll go to town on that baby but i would definitely roll my eyes a little at your decision to buy them that way. Then I’d touch you with my nasty BBQed-up hands.
Boneless
Joey:
Here’s the thing. I love “boneless wings” but stop calling them wings! It’s just normal chicken and false advertising to compare them to traditional wings. Just say you’re having some lovely chicken for dinner and I’ll nod approvingly and whisper “good stuff, brother!” but buffalo wings have bones in them! It’s the way it is. You pick it up and make a mess biting through the bones while pretending to eat the carrot and celery on the side so you feel less horrible about yourself. This is the wings experience. This is America.
Bone-in
Tom:
Fuck, what a decision. Some of the greatest meals in my life have involved boneless chicken wings, but there’s a level of inconsistency that makes it hard for me to choose them. Like, I’ve been burned too many times by them having too much breading stuff that makes them taste all kinda gross.
Bone-in wings have their issues too – sometimes you get weird tendony bits, or the skin is all kinda flappy and disgusting. However, I’ve generally had a better time with them and there’s a certain level of pure satisfaction that comes with tearing meat off a bone. It’s the true wing experience. It’s the taste of life.
