This Or That (5/13/2015)
Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.
Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeySplashwater and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the
false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinionchance to join the conversation! Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:
Will Roman Reigns win the WWE Championship in 2015?
No – 58%, Yes – 42%
Better tag team?
Cesaro and Tyson Kidd – 77%, The New Day – 23%
Where would you rather see Sami Zayn wrestle full time?

More likely to wrestle a match at Wrestlemania 32: Hulk Hogan or Ronda Rousey?
Shoot attraction stars, brother.
Tim:
I really don’t think Ronda Rousey will be allowed to wrestle. I can’t make much sense out of Dana White letting her do that. I think it would be awesome but we are way more likely to get Hulk Hogan’s farewell match or whatever the hell it is he’s been talking about for years now. If they do that he’ll have to be the hot tag in a tag match, right? He can’t go out and have a whole match by himself. Anyway, I see him back in the ring at Wrestlemania 32 way before I can see Rousey.
Hulk Hogan
Joey:
I just can’t see Dana White allowing his biggest attraction to risk injury and make so much money for WWE unless he gets a large cut out of this. I also don’t think Vince McMahon will pay Dana White to use Ronda Rousey. Maybe she’ll be in the corner of The Rock when he faces Triple H but I just don’t think the politics allows her to wrestle an actual match.
Hulk Hogan may get a weird tag match or some sort of a match that protects his limitations while giving him a leg drop and celebration in Dallas. Hogan just has to convince Vince McMahon one more time. The Ronda Rousey scenario faces more hurdles.
Hulk Hogan
Tom:
I have no idea how UFC contracts work but old Dana “As Real As It Gets” White seemed pretty set on young Ronda not getting into the graps properly. So, while her showing up for another segment could happen, I don’t imagine an actual match will.
As for the Hulkster, he’s in the greatest shape of his LIFE. Don’t believe it? Just ask him, brother! He’s ready to pose, deliver some half-speed punches and deliver one (1) powerslam to a wrestler no heavier than 220 pounds ***PLEASE NOTE, NO LEGS WILL BE DROPPED, THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE***.
Hulk Hogan
More likely to become WWE Champ again: Sheamus or The Miz?
You have to choose one.
Tim:
Hopefully they never put The Miz back in that position. He hasn’t hardly changed at all since then and I can’t think of anything I would look forward to if he was the champion. I can see them handing it to Sheamus at some point especially with this new and “improved” version we’ve been getting lately. Yeah, he’s still annoying to me but at least he is better than The Miz. I’m sure they get that. I just think they would go to Sheamus before they would go with The Miz again.
Sheamus
Joey:
WWE puts Miz in as many movies as possible so they still have a decent amount of faith in him. Even though Miz has been in WWE longer, it feels like he’s much younger than Sheamus and will have more opportunities in the long run. For Sheamus, this is probably his last chance at elevating himself back into that top tier. I can’t see it happening. I’ll take the gamble of something changing with Miz in 4 years as opposed Sheamus in the next year or two.
The Miz
Tom:
The idea of Miz main eventing again seems like insanity. His former life as a Wrestlemania main eventer seems to be widely ridiculed these days by just about everyone, and it’s not like he’s shown any huge improvements in recent years. Sheamus is a very weird case. He’s capable of very good matches but they seem to have no idea how to present him with any consistency. I still think he’s more likely to be given a main event chance again, but I’m not holding my breath.
Sheamus
Better anti-American wrestler: Rusev or Lance Storm?
They hate America.
Tim:
WELL, I have to tell the truth here. RUSEV IS AMAZING. We all know that. No big deal. Lance Storm though… he could act so disgusted at America. He was boring and yet still hilarious to me (in a “this guy is ridiculous” way). Being snobby and acting like he is better than most things is/was just natural to him. You can’t get that organically played character just anywhere and Lance Storm brought it. Most of Rusev’s “anti-American” stuff has seemed pretty dull and unoriginal. That’s not the best part of Rusev.
Lance Storm
Joey:
One of my favorite over the top silly moments in wrestling was a match in WCW 2000 featuring Lance Storm vs. Mike Awesome. The gimmick was Canadian rules where Awesome won the match 4 or 5 times but the match would be restarted due to some silly rule in the “Canadian rulebook” before Storm eventually won the match. I was so livid about this as a kid. Lance was even amazing doing the Un-Americans deal in 2002 with Christian and Test. What I’m saying is Storm just knows how to portray disliking something easier than most.
Lance Storm
Tom:
I love everything about Rusev but I have an extremely soft spot for Canadian wrestlers with an Anti-American gimmick. Being from the UK, Americans and Canadians seem broadly indistinguishable from one another, so seeing them get vicious towards each other seems weird and petty in a VERY satisfying way. It’s certainly the role that old Lance was most entertaining in, before he withdrew from active competition to tackle society’s greatest threats: libraries and cancer charities.
To give Rusev his due, I think he’s incredible but he’s ultimately just doing Ivan Drago’s bit from Rocky IV. You could argue that Lance was just following in Bret Hart’s footsteps, but I’d argue that the Storm-man took it to heights that even Bret never reached.
Lance Storm
Better game: Air hockey or Foosball?
Fun and games.
Tim:
I can not stand foosball. You’re JUST TWIRLING METAL RODS. Get a damned life. Me? I am a long-time air hockey player and I live for the sport. Think of the tech that makes the puck glide around so beautifully or the way you slyly try leaving your hand covering up your enter goal so that your opponent can’t hit it in. This is why air hockey should be adored everywhere. It’s the last remnant of hope in this world. I really love air hockey. So much. I really don’t think anything beats it. Imagine thinking foosball is a game of skill and precision and not a game of flipping-this-pole-over-and-making-an-excited-face-to-make-it-look-like-I’m-doing-something-cool-but-really-I-am–bored.
Air hockey
Joey:
Is this really a debate? Foosball is trash. Air hockey is amazing. The air hockey table already looks cooler and you’re actually hitting the pick yourself. With foosball, you’re just turning knobs and being a giant dork. This is not close. Air hockey is a true classic game.
Air hockey
Tom:
Air hockey is an extremely good game, especially since it seems to provide inspiration for one of the greatest videogames of all time, Windjammers. However, “foosball” (also known as “table football”) is a game of skill and precision for gentlemen who love a bit of cheeky banter. It should be an olympic sport, and yes, that is a shoot
