    This Or That (11/12/2015)

Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.

Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeyOnEarth and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:

Who will leave Survivor Series as WWE Champion?

    Seth Rollins – 82%, Roman Reigns – 18%

Which Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match was better?

    No Mercy 2002 – 65%, Hell in a Cell 2015 – 35%

Which WWE Network special disappointed you more?

The Stone Cold Podcast With Brock Lesnar – 56%, Breaking Ground – 44%

    Do you like The Flash?

    No – 67%, Yes – 33%

Who is your favorite member of New Day: Kofi Kingston, Big E or Xavier Woods?

    New Day rocks.

    newday

    Joey:

We all love the entire New Day so don’t you dare think I’m sour on the other two but Kofi Kingston is my guy. I’ve always thought Kofi was extremely underrated and above the level of someone like Dolph Ziggler when everyone was hyping him. Seeing Kofi get to showcase his personality and humor has been one of my favorite things in wrestling this year. He’s a great time as usual in the ring. If Kofi doesn’t win a WWE World Championship at some point in his career, I will be quite disappointed. There’s no reason Sheamus should be holding the MITB briefcase instead of him right now.

    Kofi Kingston

    Tim:

Xavier Woods was never one of my favorite wrestling personalities but his chemistry with the other members of New Day has boosted him up a good bit. He carries himself differently nowadays and seems like a real good dude. Kofi Kingston has always been a personal favorite to watch in the ring and I’ve always felt like he deserved way more than a lot of the roster. Big E, though… He’s always had a great a personality. Now that he is in a group where he can show it off on a weekly basis he is easily in the top tier for me. On top of all of that he plays “big man” well in all of his matches. The guy is great.

    Big E

    Tom:

Oh man. Oh MAN. What a choice. I think all three are incredible. Kofi was a favourite of mine for a while, so I was very glad to see him find something that worked and allowed him to be a part of fun, prominent storylines. Big E has won my heart with the way he moves and his ridiculous taunts and so on, it’s all SO good. Like, he’s guaranteed to make me laugh in a completely unexpected way almost every night. However, Xavier Woods JUST about pips him to the post in terms of hilarious facials, and I also respect the hell out of him as a former trombonist myself. They’re all sweeties though! Just three absolute sweeties.

    Xavier Woods

    Cesaro vs. Diego

    Joey:

Not sure who exactly Diego is but I’ll assume it’s Primo or his tag partner. This will probably end up as the third best match of the night because this is a house show. Both guys will have extra incentive to tear it up as neither usually have singles matches on the other live Network specials aka PPVs.

    Interest Level: 8/10
    Prediction: Cesaro wins.

    Tim:

This doesn’t sound too bad. The former Primo isn’t a bad in-ring competitor at all and with him facing off against Cesaro there’s no reason this shouldn’t be an entertaining match.

    Interest Level: 7/10
    Prediction: Cesaro wins.

    Tom:

What a weird match. Is this happening because they’d already sorted the lads out with their visas when Tyson got injured so they just had to figure out another way to use old Cesaro and Los Matadores? Am I over-thinking this? Anyway, Cesaro with a smaller, somewhat flippy guy sounds alright to me.

    Interest Level: 6/10
    Prediction: Cesaro wins.

    This Or That (1/27/2015)

You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:

More likely to have a great match at Wrestlemania 31?

    Sting – 81%, Roman Reigns – 19%

    Better Royal Rumble moment?

    John Cena’s surprise return win at #30 – 56%, Shawn Michaels winning as #1 entrant – 44%

    Better wacky Royal Rumble moment?

    Maven eliminating Undertaker – 89%, Drew Carey’s Rumble appearance – 11%

    Better ice cream flavor?

    Vanilla – 62%, Chocolate – 38%

Better match: Nakamura vs. Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom or Lesnar vs. Rollins vs. Cena at Royal Rumble?

Which early 2015 MOTY candidate was better?

    shinsuke-seth

    Tim:

Both were great and I hate having to pick one. Lesnar vs Rollins vs Cena had me on edge. It was Rollins bringing out his best and showing he was a true star. It was Brock Lesnar showing that he is a monster and at the top of his game  it was… eh, well Cena was being Cena but that’s fine as the other two brought their absolute best. It was a near perfect storm.

Nakamura vs Ibushi had incredible atmosphere. Two wrestlers with great chemistry went in with all they could muster and out on a spectacle on NJPW’s biggest stage. One of the best matches I’ve ever seen but I don’t think that eclipses the storytelling of WWE’s Beast vs Whiny Heel vs Hero. It’s just good stuff all around on both fronts.

Lesnar vs Rollins vs Cena at Royal Rumble

    Joey:

This is the toughest question in the history of This Or That for me. I believe both of these matches were worlds better than anything in 2013 and 2014 so 2015 has already given us some treats.

My main memory of Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota Ibushi is watching with wide eyes at 5AM EST in absolute awe of what was happening causing my adrenaline to keep me up. My main memory of Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena was jumping out of my chair when Rollins nailed Lesnar with the briefcase setting up what was great false hope he’d win the title.

Those moments both represent everything pro wrestling should be about. Maybe it’s due to being more familiar with the American style/atmosphere but I’m going to lean towards the triple threat. Seth Rollins is someone I’ve believed in since the first day I saw a match of his almost a decade ago and seeing his star making performance just meant more to me. Emotional connections are a part of wrestling so due to that, I must select the WWE match.

Lesnar vs. Rollins vs. Cena at Royal Rumble

    Tom:

    TRAITORS! STRONG STYLE TRAITORS!

Nakamura vs. Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom
