Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin in a Chairs Match

      Joey:

I like Kalisto. I like Baron Corbin. I don’t care about this match. The booking here seems lazy. Both guys deserve something more noteworthy. I think they can pull off a decent match, but chairs matches usually stink.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Baron Corbin wins.

      Tim:

Kalisto is enjoyable but I think I like the idea of Baron Corbin more than the guy himself. Also, who gives a damn about a chair? I hate how they feel like they have to throw that in. This is just them spinning their wheels and I have no attachment to it. I assume Baron Corbin will win because they seem way more focused on him than Kalisto. There’s some deep analysis for you.

      Interest Level: 2/10
      Prediction: Baron Corbin wins.

      Tom:

I actually think the build to this has been really pretty good – Corbs has been a prick and Kalisto has been solid at being rightfully furious about it. Chairs matches are kind of lame, but maybe The Big Breakfast will utilize that big chair Big Show once used? Remember that? I think I talk about that whenever there’s a chairs match to discuss. Anyway, these two could be a decent match, but neither one has really had a stand-out performance in WWE yet.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Kalisto wins.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella in a Street Fight

      Joey:

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella has actually been one of the best feuds of the year for WWE. The street fight feels like the right stipulation for this feud. Carmella telling off fans chanting “how you doing?” at her made her a new favorite of mine. I think Nikki is getting the win. Carmella is still the real winner for not having to be around Enzo Amore anymore.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

      Tim:

I’m really into this feud. I have never doubted it or gotten bored by it since the moment it started up which is rare for anything with WWE writing behind it. Carmella keeps getting better every week. I’m glad they made this a street fight. This is wild but I am going with Carmella getting a big win here.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Carmella wins.

      Tom:

I agree that the rivalry between these two has been F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S *winks at camera*, but I’m not expecting much from the match. I think Carmella is the weakest of the Smackdown women in terms of in-ring ability, so even though I’m expecting good moments, I don’t think it’ll be much to write home about.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship

      Joey:

What a weird fucking match. Two of the most bizarre tandems are squaring off here. Randy Orton is challenging Heath Slater for a title. I’m expecting Orton to turn on Bray Wyatt in time for WrestleMania. The tag titles could be a prop to keep them united for a few more months. My dream scenario is Rhyno GORING Bray Wyatt off the stage and Slater pinning Orton.

      Interest Level: 3/10
Prediction: Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton win.

      Tim:

The Randy Orton/Bray Wyatt stuff has been the worst part of Smackdown to me. I think they’ll go ahead and have him turn on Wyatt here. Wait. Nevermind. They’ll keep them together a little longer but they won’t win the tag titles because Luke Harper will turn on them and cost them the match. Eventually Orton will turn on Wyatt as well and then Bray will be all alone. I’m also over the Slater/Rhyno team. It was fun but they’ve just been stagnant for too long and you can’t do that with a comedy duo.

      Interest Level: 0/10
Prediction: Heath Slater and Rhyno win.

      Tom:

I’m kind of into this! It’s a complete mess, but that’s okay with me. Heath Slater and Rhyno have lost most of their lustre, but there’s still a certain appeal to seeing them squaring off with Wyatt and Orton. It’s really hard to picture what this match is going to be (assuming it’s not just a squash), which is a rare thing these days.

      Interest Level: 6/10
Prediction: Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton win.

The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

      Joey:

The feud between these two has been good but I haven’t felt as strongly for it the way others have. I understand wanting one more match with the ladders, but it feels like a waste of The Miz’s momentum. Dolph Ziggler can to hell tbh.

Hopefully Maryse climbs the ladder again shades of MITB 2010. Fun fact: The Miz won that match too. I am a wrestling historian.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: The Miz wins.

      Tim:

I’m not as high on The Miz as most people seem to be but I still think he was on fire for a little while. Keeping him in a feud with “Dead-End” Ziggler after their last match did nothing but cool him off. I haven’t been able to muster up any bit of interest in the story but I’m sure the match will deliver. I think Ziggler’s retirement stipulation should come back anytime he challenges The Miz for a title.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: The Miz wins.

      Tom:

I don’t care about these two anymore! At all! Miz seemed like he was going to get bumped up away from Dolph, but no, he’s still stuck here feuding with Zigman. Forget it. Hopefully Ziggler takes a stupid ladder bump but I’m not holding my breath.

      Interest Level: 3/10
      Prediction: The Miz wins.

Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss in a Tables Match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship

      Joey:

You can easily argue Becky Lynch is the best face on the Smackdown roster and Alexa Bliss is the best heel. Bliss has impressed me more than Lynch in the weeks leading up to this. It was very RUDE of Becky to sucker punch Alexa, get beat up anyway, call her a bitch and ramble about honey badgers. Decency will prevail when Bliss throws her through the table and prevails. I can hope OKAY.

      Interest Level: 10/10
      Prediction: Alexa Bliss wins.

      Tim:

Becky Lynch is slowly fading into that awful thing where the face is actually the bigger jerk which sucks because she’s so likable. Alexa Bliss has come off very well in the lead up to this. I’m excited for the match. I was starting to not care too much over the past two weeks but the brawl at the end of the contract signing was really well done. I don’t see them taking the belt off of Lynch yet. I think Bliss came out of this feud a bigger star but always felt like she was just a hurdle for Lynch to jump over.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Becky Lynch wins.

      Tom:

Hell yes. I love this feud. Alexa Bliss is incredible with the faces she makes and Becky Lynch has been mostly excellent in her role. I thought this was going to be a one and done rivalry to establish Becky as champ, but nope, it’s actually developed into something interesting. Even though I think Becky will be winning, I think it’s done wonders for Alexa to be featured like she has, and I hope she still gets featured fairly prominently after this match.

      Interest Level: 10/10
      Prediction: Becky Lynch wins.

AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose in a TLC Match for the WWE World Championship

      Joey:

The build for this match has actually been compelling! God bless James Ellsworth giving Dean Ambrose a purpose again. AJ Styles comes off well as the champ on Smackdown and I can’t see it leaving him before Royal Rumble. I’m going for the feel good moment of Ellsworth pushing Ambrose off the ladder through the tables to help Styles win. Ellsworth is sick of carrying Ambrose and the friendship is OVER.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: AJ Styles wins.

      Tim:

I think Ellsworth turning is going to happen but not this soon. He’ll be a great lackey for AJ Styles. It’s actually way easier to dislike Ellsworth than it is to like him if you give it a chance. This match will be a good time. I’ve enjoyed their previous matches which is not something I can say about many Dean Ambrose singles matches. The storyline has been fun and fit in nicely with the overall tone of Smackdown.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: AJ Styles wins.

      Tom:

AJ brings out the best of Ambrose and a TLC match should add a new twist to their dynamic, though I’m still ready for them both to move onto other things. Honestly, I hope the “other thing” for AJ is a James Ellworth title match at the Royal Rumble. Let’s do this, let’s go all the way, FUCK IT. Put the stap on the little shit.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: AJ Styles wins.
