    • WWE Night of Champions 2013 Preview

Night of Champions is allegedly taking place this Sunday on PPV.

Giving their thoughs and predictions on what to expect from the PPV are members of the site @TimWelcomed, @typicalROHfan and @TomBlackett.

Prime Time Players vs. Tons of Funk vs. The Usos vs. 3MB vs. The Real Americans:

      typicalROHfan:

A pre show gauntlet match, the winner faces The Shield on the PPV. I assume the only realistic options are the Usos and Prime Time Players. The latter seems to be on a roll and I’m expecting them to win. I’m rooting for them and would be a little surprised if they don’t prevail.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Prime Time Players win.

      Tim:

This should be a fun opener…. I think. I’m guessing that Prime Time Players will win here and I am completely fine with that. WWE really needs to work on their tag division. Too bad Cesaro is stuck with Swagger.

      Interest Level: 4/10
      Prediction: Prime Time Players win.

      Tom:

It’ll be fine. I dunno, man. I’m finding it very hard to work up much excitement for this dumb show. The Usos seem to be on the way out and the PTP are on the way up, so let’s go with them. Hopefully Cesaro does something to show off how super strong he is.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Prime Time Players win.

Winners of the tag gauntlet vs. The Shield for the Tag Titles:

      typicalROHfan:

I have Prime Time Players vs. The Shield here and I’m going to go with the upset. The Shield don’t seem to be doing much lately and PTP is on a little roll so I’m going to predict PTP wins the tag titles. I think they’ll eventually be the ones to take the straps off Rollins and Reigns so why not now.

      Interest Level: 7/10
Prediction: Prime Time Players are new champs

      Tim:

I think they’ll keep the belts on The Shield here. I figure if they were going to change hands there would be a feud but this is the tag division we’re talking about here. I think they’ll wait to put them on The Wyatt Family though.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: The Shield retain.

      Tom:

Some belts have got to change hands on this PPV, surely. There’s no real reason to take them off The Shield, but there’s no real reason to keep them on them either. I guess put ’em on the Prime Time Players, why not? And then they can lose them to The Real Americans to add some SIZZLE to that inevitable feud between them and Los Matadores.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Prime Time Players win.

Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler for the US Title?

      typicalROHfan:

We’re not sure this match is taking place. It’s not listed on any of the websites we’ve circulated but they’ve had so many matches lately and you assume there can’t be just five matches on the show?

I think Dolph Ziggler will win the US Title if this match happens. The Shield losing all of their titles would sell the “Is this a sign Orton loses the title with his lackeys losing theirs” topic going forward in the show. Not to mention, Ziggler holding one of the mid-card titles is guaranteed once a year and we’re almost through with 2013.

      Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins the US Title.

      Tim:

If this is really going down it should be a good match. I think Ambrose will retain and Ziggler will unfortunately continue his slide down to the abyss of the WWE roster for awhile.

Interest Level: Not sure if it is happening/10
      Prediction: Ambrose retains.

      Tom:

Is this even happening? If so, cool, I’m sure it’ll be pretty fun. I don’t see Ambrose losing, though nothing would send the signal that Ziggler’s getting buried quite like him getting the US Title again.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Ambrose wins.

AJ Lee vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Naomi for the Diva’s Title:

      typicalROHfan:

I think I have to root for Brie Bella given she supplies so much material for our “How To Be The Best In The World” feature. Other than Brie, it features the three best in ring WWE female performers. I’m hoping Naomi wins. She’s a very talented wrestler. I know because I watched NXT season 3. Don’t think less of me.

      Interest Level: 4/10
      Prediction: Brie Bella wins.

      Tim:

This match has potential to impress as long as Brie Bella stay sout of the way for the majority of it. AJ Lee is amazing. Natalya is outstanding. Naomi has a lot of potential. I’ll be fine with any of those three winning. I think Lee will retain so they can carry this on more. I would like it to end with Natalya coming out on top.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: AJ Lee retains.

      Tom:

As Wrestling On Earth’s Number One Total Divas Fan (i.e. I have watched more than one episode of Total Divas), I can’t wait to see this covered on E!’s new hit reality series. Hopefully there’s some more drama with Sandra the seamstress! Sandra? Sondra? I dunno man. A champ losing the belt in a four way is always lame and I’d rather see Naomi win it in a singles match with some build up, resulting in an adorable goofy celebration with The Uso She’s Dating.

      Interest Level: 2/10
      Prediction: AJ Lee retains.

CM Punk vs. Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman:

      typicalROHfan:

I think CM Punk and Paul Heyman are great but I can’t pretend to have enthusiasm for anything Curtis Axel plays such a large role in. Given the card, I think this match will go 15-20 minutes. That means 10-15 minutes of Axel wrestling.

I see it going the predictable route of Punk beating Axel then getting his revenge on Heyman. I hope someone helps Heyman and attacks Punk. Maybe Kofi Kingston or Tyson Kidd.

      Interest Level: 2/10
      Prediction: Punk wins.

      Tim:

I think Punk and Heyman will do everything they can to make this match entertaing but Curtis Axel really takes away from this. I can’t even begin to care about anything he is involved in. I think Punk will get the win but before he gets his hands on Heyman a new “Heyman Guy” will stop him. Hopefully an NXT guy or a returning wrestler.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Punk wins.

      Tom:

I’M SO TIRED OF WRITING ABOUT THIS SHOW. Punk wins, Heyman gets beaten up and that’s it. As much as I’d like to see the debut of the new ‘Heyman Guy’, I just don’t think it’ll happen (especially since my EXCLUSIVE INSIDE SOURCES tell me Paul Heyman’s leaving for a while after this).

      Interest Level: 4/10
      Prediction: Punk wins.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam for the World Title:

      typicalROHfan:

RVD is Samoa Joe. Alberto Del Rio is Kurt Angle. Ricardo Rodriguez is Karen Angle. It will be so awkward when ADR and RR make out.

      Interest Level: 3/10
      Prediction: Del Rio retains.

      Tim:

This PPV is boring me by just reading through the card. Alberto Del Rio has consistent matches but again, I just don’t care too much about his character. The Rob Van Dam and Ricardo Rodriguez duo has been one of the most annoying parts of WWE television to me as of late. Del Rio retains and hopefully this is over with swiftly.

      Interest Level: 2/10
      Prediction: Del Rio retains.

      Tom:

Del Rio wins, Ricardo turns by tearing off his RVD t-shirt to reveal a tuxedo shirt underneath.

      Interest Level: 3/10
      Prediction: I’M BORED.

Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title:

      typicalROHfan:

Daniel Bryan is my favorite wrestler of all time and he’s in the #1 babyface role in the #1 feud currently in WWE yet I don’t find it interesting or compelling in the slightest. I think Orton definitely retains, the lack of matches on this show is for Triple H to cut a few promos and Big Show’s tears creates a flood drowning many of the WWE Universe.

Considering there’s zero care being put into this PPV, Bryan could win via a DQ finish to prolong this feud but I think there will be a screwy finish leading to Orton’s win.

Interest Level: 6/10 (Bryan gives anything +6 in my book)
      Prediction: ZZZandy ZZZorton retains.

      Tim:

I don’t doubt that this will be a good match. Daniel Bryan is the absolute best and Orton can definitely keep up when he’s not being boring. However, I’m just waiting on the crap finish for this one. I really don’t have much of a clue as to what they’ll do here but Orton will walk out as champion. I’ve liked the storytelling of this whole thing, but this match doesn’t really yank at my emotions because it hasn’t been an Orton vs Bryan feud. It’s been Bryan vs The World and I don’t think I’ll get too hyped until I think Bryan is finally going to win the WWE Championship.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Orton retains.

      Tom:

OKAY, FINALLY, SOMETHING TO CARE ABOUT A BIT. Orton ain’t losing the title. It should be a very good match, though some Big Show involvement seems inevitable. Maybe he’ll knock Bryan out to give Orton the win, and then knock Orton out too to lead to some underwhelming triple threat matches down the road? I miss Cena so much.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Orton retains.
