Wrestling On Earth Fantasy Draft: Round Nine

      Brad’s pick: ATHENA

      Brad:

I first found out about the talented Athena during an episode of Ring of Honor TV. I thought she really connected with the fans in the way that a Colt Cabana or a Kofi Kingston does.

She has a really cool finisher called ‘The O Face’ which is a diving Stone Cold Stunner. She is full of energy and is a great opposite to a dastardly heel.

      Tom’s pick: ADAM COLE

      Tom:

In just a few short years, Adam Cole has proved himself as a wrestler in ROH, CZW and PWG. He’s started to really excel with promos and his heel personality is SO much fun to watch. However, I think the following video is all the justification I need for picking ‘Adam Win Win’, so you know what? I’m not even going to try. ROLL THE FUCKING TAPE!

      Tim’s pick: BIG E. LANGSTON

      Tim:

This pick was a hard one. From the beginning I knew I wanted my final WWE pick to be Adrian Neville or Antonio Cesaro. It was an ongoing fight with myself through the draft about which one I wanted to use but then it hit me. I needed a beast. I needed a monster that could overpower my roster. I decided to stop arguing to myself over Cesaro vs Neville and went to who I feel is one of the most well-rounded and easily liked massive guys in wrestling: “Big” E. Langston.

Langston can be funny, he’s decent on the mic, and can play both heel and face very well. The best part is that he’s still learning. This man can be a top-contender at any time and can still grow by leaps and bounds as a performer. We all win… but mostly me.

      typicalROHfan’s pick: JAY LETHAL

      typicalROHfan:

Of the indy talent pool, I’d consider Jay Lethal among the top tier. He succeeded on  a somewhat mainstream level in TNA for years despite never getting the full support behind him in a variety of ways.

The thing that always caught my eye was Lethal’s ability to step up in the clutch. In matches with Jeff Jarrett, Kurt Angle and even Ric Flair, Lethal performed like he belonged. An art not many wrestlers in his position are able to. Even in ROH during his sole big angle vs. Kevin Steen, he was key in one of the more important angles at the time and had a great match to end the feud.

Athletically talented, skilled on the mic, high character personality, still young and a versatile performer, Jay Lethal is my first indy wrestler chosen and would probably be among my top picks if our pool were limited to today’s indy wrestlers.
