WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Two, Page 7

    • WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Two, Page 7

WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

WCW: The Comic (Issue Two, Page 7)

WCW: The Comic is probably the property of Marvel Comics / WWE, though I’m not entirely sure. This website makes no claims to own it; all panels and images are posted in the spirit of fair use and are the property of their respective owners and creators.

Tom: The WCW crowd continues to be unhelpful:

BROTHER, IF HE COULD WAKE UP AND GET HIM, HE WOULD. Unfortunately, Tom Zenk is out cold and that rat bastard Lex Luger takes full advantage:

DUBYA-CEE-DUB! DUBYA-CEE-DUB! DUBYA-CEE-DUB! Forget your Philadelphia bingo halls, the real early ’90s hardcore revolution was happening down in Atlanta. Singapore canes are one thing, but an unprotected piledriver onto a metal championship belt? That’s the true definition of extreme.

Moving on, and just as you thought things couldn’t get any worse, an old friend pops up to give his completely worthless reaction:

“Tee hee” yourself, you creep. Why are they even bothering to cut to Johnny B. Badd for his thoughts mid-match? And more to the point, why is Johnny ripping off Lex’s put-downs? Just look at this panel from page 5:

Telling guys to get a job at a burger place is Lex’s bit, Johnny! You might be a bad guy, but let’s draw the line at plagiarism, yeah? Anyway! That’s it for now, see you on Monday for more brutality.
