WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Two, Page 5

    • WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Two, Page 5

WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

WCW: The Comic (Issue Two, Page 5)

WCW: The Comic is probably the property of Marvel Comics / WWE, though I’m not entirely sure. This website makes no claims to own it; all panels and images are posted in the spirit of fair use and are the property of their respective owners and creators.

Tom: WH-UNNNK is confirmed as the sound of two brothers being hit on the back by trays of snacks. It ends up being the least successful sneak attack ever though, as the Steiners cheerfully dispose of Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton in a couple of panels. You can almost hear the echoes of snark marks screaming in protest at this 20 years ago. “WAY TO KILL YOUR TOP HEEL TEAM *INSERT PICTURE OF BURNING MONEY*.”

Hey Scotty, do you have any advice for Arn and Bobby?

SICK BURN, YES. It’s even better when you read it in the voice of current day Scott Steiner.

Back at the announce booth, Terrence Taylor, the Computerized Announcer of the ’90s still won’t shut up about his computer:

If we never see this stupid computer Terrence Taylor keeps going on about, I’m going to be bummed out. Terrence also introduces footage of The Ghoul, WCW’s mystery man who… well, even in his first appearance, his identity isn’t that much of a mystery:

A RUDE AWAKENING, huh? What a RAVISHING tease. Anyway, get ready for the main event of Lex Luger vs. Sting, Ron Simmons and The Z-Man, Tom Zenk when we come back for page 6 on Wednesday.
