WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Two, Page 14

    • WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Two, Page 14

WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

WCW: The Comic (Issue Two, Page 14)

WCW: The Comic is probably the property of Marvel Comics / WWE, though I’m not entirely sure. This website makes no claims to own it; all panels and images are posted in the spirit of fair use and are the property of their respective owners and creators.

Tom: The saga of Lex Luger and Ron Simmons continues, and tensions are running high:

It’s a fair question! What does it take for a guy to get DQ’d in 1992 WCW? Lex has hit Tom Zenk over the head with a belt, pulled the pad off the turnbuckle for Sting to run into, punched the referee right in the face and now he’s cursing like a sailor! Are there no moral boundaries he won’t cross?

MORE WRESTLING HAPPENS. There’s still too much wrestling in this comic about wrestling! Lex catches Ron with his piledriver finisher outta nowhere (which you’d guess would be tricky to do, but apparently not). However, since these two are wrestling STRONG STYLE, you’d better believe Ron kicks out of it… or at least the following panel happens:

Is that a kick out? Lex looks like he’s auditioning for a sexy version of ‘Cats’, and while I have no idea what Ron’s doing, I bet it’s a great way to tighten those buns just in time for swimsuit season. Anyway, that’s it. The torture continues on Wednesday.
