WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Three, Page 7

    • WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue Three, Page 7

WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

WCW: The Comic (Issue Three, Page 7)

WCW: The Comic is probably the property of Marvel Comics / WWE, though I’m not entirely sure. This website makes no claims to own it; all panels and images are posted in the spirit of fair use and are the property of their respective owners and creators.

Tom: FUN FACT: I own the original artwork for this page! See below for evidence – I’ve also included the Crimson shirt from the TNA Brown Bag edition of The Merch Table as proof of ownership, since I’m fairly confident I’m the only person who owns one:

That’s what you call an investment, brother. All I have to do is wait another fifty years or so for the WCW comic to finally be appreciated as the masterwork it is and I’ll be able to sell it on for big buck$$$ guaranteed.

Anyway, on with the comic! After ambushing him, Tracey Smothers explains to Sting why he’s helping Cactus Jack and the WCW Ghoul blow up a cruise ship:

So he’ll blow everyone up, blame it on Sting and then reap the benefits that come with being the survivor of a tragedy? Honestly, the more I hear about this plan, the less convinced I am that it’s going to work. Sting’s not impressed either, quickly putting Tracey in his place with a vicious SICK BURN / TRUTH BOMB combo:

Tracey’s not one to listen to logic though, so Sting’s left with only one option – KICK HIM IN THE FACE AND HIT HIM WITH YET ANOTHER SICK BURN:

AWWW SHIT MONETARY SNAP. So that’s one goon down, but time’s ticking away! Sting’s quest to defuse the bomb continues on Friday, so I’ll see you then.

@tomblackett is super into wrestling and comics. He also writes The Merch Table for this very website.
