  WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.
  
  On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

  Tom: What’s life like aboard the WCW cruise? Here’s Sting to lay it out for you:
  
  Ah, food, drink and wrestling, all the finest things in life! But hey, who’s this guy that Sting’s fighting? Probably Big Josh, the wrestling lumberjack played by Matt Borne of Doink fame who was competing in WCW at the time, right?
  
  WRONG. It’s Yukon Pete:
  
  Who’s Yukon Pete? Good question. Yukon Pete was entirely made up for the WCW comic and this is his only appearance, as confirmed by the Comic Book Database. For all the dozens of real wrestlers Mike Lackey could have used, he decided to just make one up. Why? Well. Uh. I guess he just really likes lumberjacks and Big Josh wasn’t up to scratch? I dunno, man.
  
  After quickly disposing of his fictitious opponent though, Sting gets kind of braggy:
  
  He’s basically saying “watching me fight a lumberjack on a boat is probably the highlight of most of these people’s stupid lives, so I’d better put some effort in.”
  
  To be fair to Sting though, he’s probably got a point. Just look at the hairy-armed guy with the baseball cap and the cocktail – I think it’s safe to assume that things aren’t going to get much better than the Bruise Cruise for him.
