WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue One, Page 12

    • WCW Comic Book Reading Club: Issue One, Page 12

WCW: The Comic Book was published in the early 90s by Marvel Comics. Nobody in wrestling or comics paid it much attention, and after 12 issues, it was cancelled and lost to the ages. Until now.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, @tomblackett will post a new page of the WCW comic with his comments and we’ll read through it together. We’ll be there for each other, through the good (Vader! The Steiners! Sting! Cactus Jack!) and the (Johnny B.) Badd.

WCW: The Comic (Issue One, Page 12)

WCW: The Comic is probably the property of Marvel Comics / WWE, though I’m not entirely sure. This website makes no claims to own it; all panels and images are posted in the spirit of fair use and are the property of their respective owners and creators.

Tom: Jesus Christ, look at this:

For the number one good guy in WCW: The Comic, they sure do love making Sting look absolutely terrifying. Poor old Arn Anderson looks like he’s screaming for his life as the Stinger gets ready to break his neck. Missy Hyatt has a very strange reaction to this though:

I have no idea how to read this. Is this weird homophobia? Did Missy stumble onto the ‘Arn Anderson is the bear’ Tumblr and has confused feelings about Double A as a result? There’s nothing wrong with being a burly, hairy man, Missy! They need to be touched as well!

There’s also another appearance by Diamond Studd and his magical permanently attached sunglasses:

We also learn that the sound of a piledriver is BWAMMMMM while the sound of a nice chop to the throat is SP-WAKKKK, which is what Vader uses to leave Sting laying.

As the manbeast-mastodon-corn-fed-meathead-behemoth advances, the whiney kids in the front row beg for Sting to get up:

QUIT YOUR WHINING, KIDS! You’ve had a break from Johnny B. Badd for a page, you should be grateful for that! Now wait until Wednesday to see if Sting bothers to get up or not.
