Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeySplashwater and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Which midcard title reign are you more excited to see play out: John Cena’s or Daniel Bryan’s?

    Optimism?

    cena-bryan

    Tim:

I really like Cena’s open challenge matches for the title. It has really elevated that belt a good bit already. I’m worried about Bryan and the Intercontinental Championship. It wasn’t even on Raw this past week and I’m really hoping they don’t make this a Smackdown thing. The match between him and Barrett was just kind of announced and they moved on. I’m really curious to see if they turn this around so I’m looking forward to seeing how that goes more than Cena’s US run. They’re both exciting in their own ways though.

    Daniel Bryan’s

    Joey:

John Cena’s Open Challenge is already the best thing in WWE and the United States title is relevant just like that. Daniel Bryan wasn’t even on RAW and his short title reign has been used to put over Sheamus being back with a bad haircut. Basically, Cena has already rescued the US Championship and Bryan is already facing some “same old” hurdles with the IC Championship. That makes me believe the plan is for Cena to have a very long reign while Bryan’s may be more a traditional weird Intercontinental title run except with better matches.

    John Cena’s

    Tom:

Watching Cena wrestle competitive matches with midcard dudes is a REALLY strange deal but not in a bad way. I don’t expect it to last longer than a few months but it should be an interesting time and hopefully continue to result in some fun, weird matches. Sadly for Bryan, the midcard scene is one he’s always had one foot in, so seeing him immersed in that world doesn’t feel as exciting. I’m sure his matches will be terrific but there isn’t the same novelty.

    • Daniel Bryan's (34%, 24 Votes)

Would you rather: Watch another 20 minute Big Show vs. Roman Reigns match or Listen to the first 20 minutes of a Chris Jericho podcast?

    Torture.

    reigns-jericho

    Tim:

Chris Jericho is so damn bad and makes me feel completely awful when I listen to him talk. With that in mind, let me tell you how much I absolutely can’t stand a boring wrestling match between to dullards. I had rather deal with the absolute shame that comes from listening to a WHOLE Jericho podcast than watch The Big Show or Roman Reigns wrestle. To have them wrestle each other again would just be icing on the shit cake.

…Now I feel like I have to apologize about saying I had rather listen to Jericho. What an insufferable person he is.

The first 20 minutes of a Chris Jericho podcast

    Joey:

I normally would have answered with Chris Jericho’s podcast because sometimes it’s so bad that it becomes cringy entertainment. However, last night completely lost me with the fluff interview. Jericho usually goes for the dirt with his guests.

The guy was bothering CM Punk to do a tell all interview with him when Punk left. But now on a WWE Network production, he’s basically telling Cena how great he is for an hour. Good grief. I’m done with Jericho. Give me the boring match. At least it doesn’t make me feel shame for my old fandom. I know, Chris. I’m banned from listening to your podcast now! METALLICA COWBELL BABAY

Watch Big Show vs. Roman Reigns

    Tom:

I love The Big Show’s recent antics during interviews and the stories about his interaction with live crowds and other wrestlers but I never, ever want to watch a match of his ever again. He needs to give up the grappling and become a being of pure banter. Jericho is awful but there’s a certain morbid fascination to witnessing his downward spiral into worthlessness.

Better post-WWE wrestling career: Drew Galloway or Trent Barreta?

Which successful wrestler has impressed you more after being released from WWE?

    drew-vs-trent

    Tim:

YO! Galloway is solid and can get shit done. I get why he has a following but I kind of feel like he has underwhelmed me since leaving WWE. He seems made for them and it is a shame he didn’t get more chances. Not to say I’m not a fan or that he isn’t one of the best things in the places he works but maybe that’s more about the state of the indies through my eyes recently.

Trent? though… Trent has been a force. He had a warming up period but found his thing and has been one of the highlights of the indie circuit for me. Now he’s got RPG Vice going and seems to be evolving again. It’s been really cool to see plus he’s hilarious. WWE never even tried to use him right.

    Trent Barreta

    Joey:

I think Drew Galloway is a better wrestler with the potential to be a WWE Champion level type of performer. The kind of guy you can build a promotion around but I always knew he was good in WWE. Whenever he had a chance, his matches usually delivered.

As for Trent?, I have zero memory of anything he did in WWE. I’ve been more blown away at his work on the indies being one of the best wrestlers in the country. His chemistry with Rocky Romero has been instant and Roppongi Vice is looking to be the next great tag team with both men looking at their peak together. I’d argue Barreta needs to lose the headband but it won him the IWGP Jr. Tag title so he wins.

    Trent Barreta

    Tom:

I’ve seen so little of Big Drew’s post-Fed career that I don’t feel like I can comment. I think he’s really talented but none of the places he’s being showcased right now are ones that are really on my radar. As for Trent, his emergence on the indy scene after he was released was one of my favourite things about wrestling from the past couple of years. He’s very fun and likeable and felt like a fresh presence in PWG. Hopefully he does well in Japan even though *whispers* I’m not sure if I care about Rocky Romero.

Superior cake: Cheesecake or Traditional birthday cake?

    More food.

    cake-warz

    Tim:

Listen here. If you could even begin to say “traditional birthday cake” I think you need to get a life. Cheesecake is superior in every way. I’m not trying to eat some sweet crumbly bread with an iced topping like some kind of damn animal. Give me the sweet succulence of a soft cheesecake. It was The Golden Girls favorite treat and it should be yours too.

    Cheesecake

    Joey:

Cheesecake is a gift from the cake gods. Birthday cake is trash. I’ve had a slice of cheesecake 5 out of the last 7 days and I am NOT ashamed. Improved with strawberry, blueberry, cherry and other flavors, we need to stop taking this lovely dish for granted. Birthday cakes are sponges with poison frosting. They can go straight to hell.

    Cheesecake

    Tom:

I’m not even sure what a traditional birthday cake is, to be honest, or at least not what America considers traditional. In the UK, it’d be a lovely Victoria sponge – a dignified cake, consisting of nothing but two layers of sponge cake, some jam in between and a dusting of powdered sugar on top. Over here, I bet there’s all sorts of icing bullshit going on. Forget that.

Anyway. Cheesecake is consistent no matter where you are, even though I don’t like when they have it without the base. The base is where it’s at.
