    WrestleMania 32 Preview and Predictions

    It’s here.

Giving their thoughts and predictions on what to expect from the PPV are members of the site @JoeyOnEarth, @TimWelcomed and @TomBlargh.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

This is always enjoyable and feels like the perfect pre-show match. I can’t see any of The Wyatt Family members winning and Big Show won’t win again. The idea of a surprise person winning here seems possible but I’m going to ride with the feel good story of Mark Henry getting the trophy win in his final big WWE moment before retiring the next night.

    Interest Level: 7/10
    Prediction: Mark Henry wins.

I am in Dallas and I am doing this while partying and living the dream. BRIE MOOOODE! Haha. Good stuff there. I can see the black sheep of The Wyatt Family, Brak Brunan, winning this one. I can also see Bray Wyatt winning. I can also see a returning Cena winning it. Okay, that’s it. I probably won’t care for this unless a certain guy named Cesaro get cleared and becomes a two-time winner.

    Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Cena wins… ? NOT! Brulp Strapman wins.

Recently, Joey and I had a conversation about whether or not we felt sorry for Bray Wyatt. We came to the conclusion that, even in spite of the fact that he’s never really delivered on any of the many chances he’s been given, we DO feel sorry for him if the only thing he ends up doing at Wrestlemania is the Battle Royal.

That’s about all I have to say about this. Hopefully Fandango gets a good showing.

    Interest Level: 4/10
Prediction: Mark Henry and Big Show in a stalemate.

Lana, Summer Rae, Naomi, Tamina and Emma vs. Brie Bella, Paige, Alicia Fox, Natalya and Eva Marie

It’s an absolute disgrace that one of the most overpushed and overrated divas in WWE history joined Brie Bella’s team but enough about Paige. Congrats to Eva Marie on her first WrestleMania match!

Why does Eva get a WrestleMania appearance? BECAUSE SHE HAS A FUNKO POP. You goofs don’t get the biz. I’m looking forward to this being a complete mess in a very fun way.

    Interest Level: 5/10
    Prediction: Team Bella wins.

    Interest Level: 4/10
Prediction: Brie Bella gets the pin and her team wins.

(Editor’s note: Tim added so many letters to “BRIE MODE” that FireFox stretched out the page and we had to shorten it for optimal results. The man was truly in Brie Mode.)

Interest Level: AIN’T GONNA STOP ME NOW/10
    Prediction: Total Divas gets cancelled.

    This Or That (12/11/2015)

You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:

Who is your favorite member of The New Day?

    Big E – 64%, Xavier Woods – 20% Kofi Kingston – 16%

    More entertaining McMahon kid?

    Shane – 58%, Stephanie – 42%

    Better manager?

    Summer Rae – 52%, Lana – 48%

    Better silly slasher series?

    Scream – 84%, I Know What You Did Last Summer – 16%

Which 2016 super show are you more excited about: Wrestlemania or Wrestle Kingdom?

    Screen Shot 2015-11-27 at 17.25.55

This is obviously early in the game to forecast a Wrestlemania card but I find myself disappointed with the variables hitting Wrestlemania season. Seth Rollins is out, Randy Orton is likely out and The Rock is rumored to be unable to compete. The foreshadowing of Triple H vs. Roman Reigns as a top two main event is quite disappointing for me. I can’t watch NJPW shows often because the weaker cards annoy me with their structure of shows but Wrestle Kingdom looks incredible. Top three things I’m looking forward to:

    1. Nakamura vs. Styles

    2. Okada vs. Tanahashi

    3. Cheeseburger’s debut. Top that, Wrestlemania.

    Wrestle Kingdom

I try to stay up to date with NJPW even if I can’t always catch all of their shows. Wrestle Kingdom is looking like a mighty fine show that I will definitely be tuning into… unlike Tom, the puro expert, who will for sure be asleep. Nothing about the way WWE is booking things right now gives me high hopes for Wrestlemania. Things could always change but I’m just not sure that company has any surprises I would be into left in it without a huge shake-up occurring.

    Wrestle Kingdom

Am I the Internet’s number one “puroresu” fan? Yes, obviously. Will I stay up to watch Wrestle Kingdom? Again, obviously, and anyone who says I’ve fallen asleep during previous broadcasts is a liar. However, as much as I love the Japanese “strong style”, I’m still going to have to go for Wrestlemania.

As many setbacks as there have been in terms of injuries and other issues, I’m still excited to see what Titan Sports Inc. does with their biggest show of the year. They’ve managed to somehow pull it off the past two times, so I want to see if they can make it three years running. Also, it’ll be the first Kevin Owens Wrestlemania and I’ll be fascinated to see what role he has – a match with Sami Zayn would be incredible and seems like the obvious choice, assuming both are healthy. Regardless though, I think the stakes are much higher at ‘Mania than they are for Wrestle Kingdom – even if it’s a trainwreck, that’ll make for more interesting viewing than just another good NJPW show.

WWE Wrestlemania 31 Preview and Predictions

    Wrestlemania is here. We think.

Giving their thoughts and predictions on what to expect from the PPV are members of the site @JoeySplashwater, @TimWelcomed, @IndianDeathlock and @TomBlargh.

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs. The Usos vs. The New Day vs. Los Matadores for the WWE Tag Team Championship on the pre-show

Cesaro and utility player wrestler with manager vs. The Usos vs. Los Matadores returning to PPV after being non-existent for months vs. a team you won’t remember in a year from now on the pre-show for the tag team titles. Shades of last year. Except less hope for Cesaro. The match should be fine if the Usos are healthy.

    Interest Level: 6/10
Prediction: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd win.

Oh damn. It’s time for The T Man to dish out some very self-indulgent hot takes! This should be a good match but it will feel hollow as most WWE tag team matches do. The typical stuff. It’ll be solid. It’ll have some spots we’ve seen a million times before. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd would be a great tag team if being a tag team meant anything in WWE besides “filler.” The Usos are fantastic but we’ve seen them wrestle every combination of these teams so many times. Los Matadores have a horrible gimmick and haven’t really done much lately. I feel awful for The New Day. This is the most pre-show pre-show match you could imagine for Wrestlemania. I think Cesaro and Kidd win here. I’m sure they’ll eventually bring prestige to these belts once and for all if they hold them long enough!

    Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd win.

This will be fun and get us jazzed for the show. It’ll be fine!

Interest Level: 6/10 Strong Style Interest Points™

It’ll be good, y’know? Y’KNOW? Yeah, you know.

    Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd win.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the pre-show

Does anyone in the world care about this? Noteworthy predictions: Curtis Axel will be eliminated first. Big Show and Kane will double eliminate each other. Sandow will eliminate Miz. Sheamus returns and wins.

    Interest Level: 2/10
    Prediction: Sheamus wins.

A ring full of dorks, Sandow, and an NXT guy. GOOD STUFF. Showcase of The Immortals and all of that jazz, ya know? Best case scenario, it ends up with just Sandow and Miz left in the ring leading to Sandow throwing Miz out. Most probable scenario, Sheamus returns and wins.

    Interest Level: 3/10
    Prediction: Sheamus wins.

Hi, I dunno who’s in this match at all. Is this the part where I tell you that If I ran the WWE, Damien Sandow would be on a record-breaking title run right now?

    Interest Level: 5/10
    Prediction: Damien Sandow?

If they have Sheamus return to win a pre-show battle royal then el oh fucking el, welcome to the Reality Era, fella. I look forward to seeing how the enormous trophy is destroyed.

    Interest Level: 6/10
    Prediction: Mizdow wins.

AJ Lee and Paige vs. The Bella Twins

The four noteworthy divas in the company will have a chance this year. This is probably the best divas match option they could have went with to be honest. I think it will be one of the better matches on the show – not sure if that says more about this match or the full card.

    Interest Level: 6/10
    Prediction: AJ and Paige wins.

I still believe AJ is the best female wrestler in WWE. Paige is wonderful but I still don’t think she’s close to hitting her stride on the main roster and that’s not entirely her fault. Nikki Bella has grown a lot as a personality and a wrestler but I still don’t think she is that wonderful. Brie Bella is Brie Bella. I’ve seen potential in her a lot here and there but it’s a one step forward, two steps back kind of thing with her. Popularity-wise this is definitely the four WWE should showcase at the biggest show of the year. Will it be the best divas match WWE could put on? No way. There’s definitely a chance these four could do something entertaining though.

    Interest Level: 5/10
    Prediction: AJ and Paige win.

Thirty seconds, probably humiliating. It might even just get cut from the show so Triple H’s entrance can go longer.

Interest Level: -10/10 regular points, 10/10 Strong Style Interest Points™ for Nikki Bella’s elbow.
    Prediction: We all lose.

“Fearless” Nicole Bella is here to show all you candyasses that girls are doing it for themselves! Holla at your girl! I don’t know, I’m sick of seeing all of these girls compete in various different combinations. It’s all we’ve seen in PPV Divas matches for the last year and I want some variety.

    Interest Level: 3/10
Prediction: April Jeanette “Ape” Lee-Mendez-Punker-Brooks and Paige win.

More valuable to Wrestlemania history: The Undertaker or Shawn Michaels?

The Undertaker and his streak became more important for Wrestlemania later on. I think his two matches with Shawn Michaels, the Wrestlemania 27 match against Triple H, and his match against CM Punk were not only great but pretty important to those specific Wrestlemanias. Besides the matches I just named there are no Undertaker matches at Wrestlemania that I actively go back and watch.

Shawn Michaels definitely had a few of his own Wrestlemania clunkers but there was always something about him that captivated me. He just oozed charisma. As a kid who was raised on WCW, HBK was the main reason to ever get excited about a Wrestlemania. Now that I’m older HBK is still one of, if not THE, biggest reason to go back and watch old Wrestlemanias on the WWE Network. You just knew you were going to see a star do what he does best even if the chemistry wasn’t right or the build was shitty. When The Undertaker is in a boring or just plain bad match he does not grab my attention at all. Without the right build or the right opponent, The Undertaker at Wrestlemania was and is just an entrance.

    Shawn Michaels

Guess what – half of The Undertaker’s Wrestlemania matches are unwatchable. They started to get better in the 2000’s but didn’t become as legendary as they are viewed until Shawn Michaels and ‘Taker had arguably the best match of all time at Wrestlemania 25.

The crazy thing is you can debate it wasn’t even Michaels best Wrestlemania match. His bouts with Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Triple H, Chris Benoit and others could rival it based on your preference. Not to mention all the other classics he had over the years. Undertaker may have meant more for a few years but in the bigger picture, Michaels provided better matches, better moments and will always stand the test of time.

    Shawn Michaels

I came into this assuming that it’d have to be The Undertaker, but thinking back, he really did have too many clunkers to take it. Not all of Shawn’s were classics, but he was still almost always in the best match on the card. He was also pretty much responsible for solidifying Undertaker’s Wrestlemania legacy and making “The Streak” the attraction it became, so yeah, gonna have to go for HBK here.

    Shawn Michaels

    More valuable to Wrestlemania history?

    Sexy Wrestler of The Week

Let’s make a splash and name The Sexy Wrestler of The Week.

It’s that time again. The votes have been counted and all of that. It’s been quite the week but I believe the voters nailed it with who they voted as the winner this week… AS THEY DO EVERY WEEK. Face paint is really cool, after all.

Steve “Sting” Borden is The Sexy Wrestler of The Week. He is finally getting his Wrestlemania moment this year so you all felt he should get his Sexy Wrestler of The Week moment this year as well. This may be a bigger deal than the Wrestlemania moment. Hell, we know it is.

Not many people know that Sting was leading a double life as real estate agent for most of his career. He kept it under wraps really well. Frank Trigg didn’t even know that “Real Estate Steve” and the Stinger were the same person. You can read that story in the latest Dirt Sheet History. Since we are the site known for having the most accurate and shocking scoops on the net, I am about to reveal something never seen before. I worked really hard and even paid a pretty penny to get my hands on this. I mean, that penny was beautiful. Here is the only known photo of The man called “Real Estate” Steve.

    Warning: This is SHOCKING.

Look at that man. How much did that suit cost him? Those sleek glasses that say “I’m a 90’s badass but also a classic. Please, buy this house.” I’m proud to say Sting is The Sexy Wrestler of The Week and a sharp real estate pro.

Around The Wrestling World In 7 Days

Every weekend, Joey will give a glimpse of the things that have entered his mind.

Hi. I have a lot of thoughts about wrestling. I decided to start a concept where I talk about what’s on my mind every weekend. I hope it’s enjoyable.

Follow me on Twitter and let me know if you want me to hit on any wrestling topics next week: @JoeySplashwater

    WWE Universe

I haven’t been this less excited for a Wrestlemania since Wrestlemania 11 back when I didn’t realize Wrestlemania was a special thing. Every year going forward, there’s been at least one match or storyline that has captivated me going into the big show. Sometimes they were home runs (The Rock vs. Hollywood Hogan), sometimes they were strike outs (Randy Orton vs. Triple H), but they always made me feel something special was happening. None of that is here. Sting’s debut WWE match is my selling point but becomes less appealing every time you watch a WWE segment on Sting. The Ultimate X Ladder Match exhibition and burial of Daniel Bryan is probably most depressing.

    Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has lost so much momentum since his breakout performance at the Royal Rumble. The best heel in years, Rollins had become the top overall performer in WWE for a few months but that’s no more as his long, drawn out angle with Randy Orton has been a kiss of death. The slow burn build to an “RKO out of nowhere” payoff at Wrestlemania 31 may be enough to kill his chances of being in a good position to leave Wrestlemania week as WWE champion.

Top 10 Potential Wrestlemania Chants During Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar

Let’s face it. It’s going to get ugly.

If Royal Rumble was bad, imagine 50,000 fans with a large portion of the attendees being diehard wrestling fans traveling from all around the world. The best case for the WWE is that the acoustics in the building are off or it’s hard to get chants heard on TV in such a large stadium. There’s no scenario in which the fans at Wrestlemania 31 accept this match without attempts to “hijack” the show and entertain themselves, especially if Brock Lesnar is leaving the WWE following this match and it leaks.

I wanted to find a way to make a game out of this to find some form of entertainment for myself when watching Wrestlemania. I’m not sure if there’s one I can make out of it aside from the tired cliche of a shot game but here’s the 10 most interesting possible chants.

    1. Daniel Bryan

The obvious and most likely chant. A large portion of WWE fans don’t want to quit on the Daniel Bryan dreams no matter how many times WWE tries to erase him from relevancy as a Wyatt lackey or an opening match ladder climber. With the way Royal Rumble went, fans are more prone to being self aware and knowing what makes TV. I can see a scenario where there’s one 20 minute long “Daniel Bryan” chant throughout the entire match.

    2. CM Punk

The opposite road to the Daniel Bryan chant. If the show is ugly before the main event, fans may be in a more bitter mood and a chant that would be more hostile than “Daniel Bryan” is the never forgotten “CM Punk.” No word yet on if WWE will sue Colt Cabana for the Punk chants.

Conversely, this may be the time the trolling fans get an AJ Lee chant going as a humorous turn from all the times CM Punk was chanted during her matches.

Dirt Sheet History: April 2006 (Wrestlemania 22)

Take a trip back to a memorable timeline in sports entertainment with the most important stories reported as fact in the journalistic world of pro wrestling dirt sheets.

Following the timeline of the last Dirt Sheet History looking back at March 2006, we get a glimpse into the top scoops from April of 2006. Featuring Wrestlemania 22, the Hall of Fame, ECW returning, suspensions and many more tidbits, it was a quite memorable month in wrestling. Reminder that you can find all editions of Dirt Sheet History looking at 2004 and 2005 right here at this very link. Now enjoy April 2006!

    * Bret Hart is staying in a different hotel from the WWE wrestlers and crew in Chicago upon his request. Hart was said to be unhappy about WWE continuously trying to get him to sign a contract for his Hall of Fame appearance tonight. WWE is apparently doing so because the contract includes a no-compete clause that would keep him from working with TNA or any other wrestling company.

According to at least one source, Hart just wants to get through the Hall of Fame ceremony and get out of Chicago.

    * Shawn Michaels and his wife left the Hall Of Fame ceremony prior to Bret Hart‘s induction. Michaels left to a mixed reaction from the crowd, with half of the crowd chanted “You screwed Bret” and the other half of the crowd chanting “HBK.”

    * WWE.com posted a “WrestleMania Post Game Show” hosted by Todd Grisham that took place directly after last night’s WrestleMania 22 PPV. The most intriguing interview came from John Cena.

Cena addressed the negative crowd reactions, essentially cutting a promo saying that he would not try to please everyone and that he appreciates everyone that supports him. The WWE Champ continued to say that those that don’t support him better “get used to it” because he is taking the WWE Title to “another level.”

    * WWE issued a text message to their mobile service subscribers today confirming that Randy Orton has been suspended from WWE for “unprofessional conduct.” Although the length of the suspension has not been confirmed, current rumors going around say that it is for 60 days. Rumor has it now that Randy Orton was possibly suspended after results came in on his drug test. No confirmation to this story as of this report, but that is the word making the rounds.

Alternate Timelines: Who Should Have Ended The Streak?

Most were displeased with Brock Lesnar ending The Streak of Undertaker’s undefeated Wrestlemania matches. I take a look at all the other realistic possibilities and if they would have been better.

With the talk of wrestling still partially being about The Undertaker’s Streak as recently heard on The Ross Report with Shawn Michaels discussing it and having enough time to fully process in reliving the moment numerous times, I decided to think who else aside from Brock Lesnar could have realistically ended The Streak. Looking at the pros and cons, I come to the conclusion of who should have been the one to end The Streak.

Feel free to follow me on Twitter: @JoeySplashwater

    Roman Reigns

One of the most popular choices of someone many pundits think would have been the best option. Roman Reigns is probably the best prospect to be a mega superstar in WWE since John Cena. WWE clearly wants to make him a big babyface so why not give him the biggest win possible and put the rocket to his back launching him on the biggest stage possible?

    Why not:

We’ve never really seen what Roman Reigns can do as a singles star. Sure, he has cool matches but it’s under the umbrella of The Shield. Once that ends, his gear will be different, he’ll have to cut promos on his own, he’ll basically have to prove himself all over again with more pressure. What if he cracks? You can’t risk that with someone ending The Streak.

Should he have ended The Streak:
