The Prime Time Players vs. New Day vs. Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores for the WWE Tag Team Championship

      Joey:

We see this kind of match every Wrestlemania and it’s always a fun time. It should be improved this time with New Day being so over and Lucha Dragons likely being a fan favorite. Definitely look for New Day to get the titles back.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: New Day wins.

      Tim:

It’ll be nice to watch The Lucha Dragons do their thing. The New Day are usually a good time. I’m not too interested in this one but it should have some good spots.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: The New Day wins.

      Tom:

I feel like there’s been so much attention taken off the tag division lately that it’s hard to be too interested in this, even though it’s likely to be pretty good! Lucha Dragons seem to have been relegated to Main Event type shows with Los Matadores, while PTP have mostly been on commentary duties. Thankfully, The New Day has been consistently great so hopefully they get the belts back.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: The New Day wins.

      Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

      Joey:

I’ve only heckled at a wrestling show once in my life during Malta The Damager vs. Big Daddy V (R.I.P) at FWE but this may be the second time if the Brooklyn faithful decide to troll the match. I don’t mind Randy Orton these days but current Sheamus is the worst. These two always have boring repetitive matches. No thanks.

      Interest Level: 1/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

      Tim:

I really can’t believe we have to watch these two put on their usual snoozefest of a match again. I expect Orton to win as Sheamus will be leaving the hottest party of the summer with a major WWE championship.

      Interest Level: DUD/10
Prediction: I’m going to fix me a nice sandwich during this one. Maybe grab a cold drink as well. I’m thinking turkey on wheat for the sandwich but who knows what I’ll be feeling at the time. I might get wild and see what’s up with ham nowadays. Have any of you had a ham sandwich lately? If so be sure to comment and let us know.

      Tom:

It’s incredibly difficult for my brain to process this as being a match that is happening yet again on a major PPV. I’m praying it doesn’t go too long, but The Fed has a horrible trend of giving both of these guys far too much time in very boring matches. Christ, why would they do this? I am not entertained!

      Interest Level: 0/10
Prediction: Please let it be short.

      Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler

      Joey:

Hope Summer Rae throws Dolph Ziggler off my stage. Fully on board with this Rusev/Summer duo and fully off board with Ziggler and Lana.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins.

      Tim:

Summer Rae is actually pretty enjoyable in her role although this whole feud has been pretty dumb. It’s a shame they’ve taken the once great Lana down this particular path. Outside of the storyline this match has some potential. While my interest in Ziggler is at an all-time low he can be pretty fun to watch in the ring and Rusev plays his character really well in matches. So sure. At least it is not Orton vs Sheamus.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

      Tom:

I’m guessing this’ll be brief but decent. Summer Rae has helped bring the Rusev character back on track, though Ziggler and Lana remain one of the worst acts in the company. I’m unable to look forward to Dolph’s matches but they generally end up being fairly solid and Rusev is still bloody good.

      Interest Level: 4/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

Neville and Stephen Amell vs. Stardust and King Barrett

      Joey:

Please have Stephen Amell dress as Green Arrow! This is probably the best use of any of these three wrestlers at this point if we’re being honest. I’m excited about this! My first time seeing Neville wrestle live and Amell looks like the right fit to wrestle.

      Interest Level: 8/10
Prediction: Neville and Green Arrow win.

      Tim:

I really wish I cared about Stephen Amell and that awful Arrow show so I could be more excited about a celebrity that actually likes wrestling getting to have a match. This should be really stupid. Honestly, that’s the best way for this to go. Neville is great. Barrett can be solid. Stardust is ridiculous. Bring it on.

      Interest Level: 7/10

      Prediction: Neville and Amell win.

      Tom:

I’ve never watched Arrow and I probably never will, but I really like dumb stuff in wrestling so I’m excited for this. Everything hinges on Amell, really. Hopefully he commits to being in character as Arrow and it’s really, really silly.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Amell and Neville win.

Ryback vs. Big Show vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship

      Joey:

I want to see this! Three wrestlers that used to annoy but I enjoy them all right now. Ryback is probably the most likable face character in WWE. Miz has been incredibly hilarious over the last few months. Big Show has the banter. I’m hoping for Mike to get the big W here as a reward for saving Tough Enough.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: The Miz wins.

      Tim:

Yeah, no thanks. These three are really boring to watch wrestle and the storyline has been forgettable.

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Ryback wins.

      Tom:

Miz has definitely turned a corner recently in terms of being an effectively awful personality, rather than just a guy I didn’t want to see on my TV at all, but I’m still not that keen on him as a wrestler. This is another one that should hopefully go short! Big Show seems to be back in that grey area where he’s neither heel nor face, but at least we might get some top class banter from The Fed’s vape-lord.

      Interest Level: 4/10
      Prediction: Ryback wins.

      Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro

      Joey:

Two great wrestlers that will likely look out to steal the show means this should be a great match. I’m not sure who is likely to move higher up the card sooner but I think Kevin Owens is a safer bet to get the win here.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Kevin Owens wins.

      Tim:

This is the match I’m looking forward to the most. These two guys will go out there and give it their all. They have good chemistry and I’ve been invested in these two characters leading up to this.

      Interest Level: 10/10
      Prediction: Kevin Owens wins.

      Tom:

Hopefully it’ll be the match of the night! They seem to have a decent amount of momentum – the only question is how much time they get, and also what the future holds for these two. I’d be fine with them scrapping for a while longer – one of Owens’ biggest strengths is his ability to help keep feuds escalating and building, so I think they could stretch it out for a while longer. However, if it does turn out to be just the first act of The Saga of Kev and Toni, that might impact how this match plays out.

Anyway, never mind all that over-thinking – I’m sure it’ll be great and it’ll be very cool to see these two live on a big PPV.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Cesaro wins.

Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper

      Joey:

I don’t care about this. I’m predicting Dean Ambrose turns here.

      Interest Level: 3/10
Prediction: Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper win.

      Tim:

The most I can hope for here is a watchable match and a Dean Ambrose heel turn because the guy has been supremely unbearable as a face. Him and Reigns have some really bad banter that I just can’t support. He’s super talented and could probably be on another level as a heel. Also, I love watching Luke Harper wrestle.

      Interest Level: 4/10
Prediction: Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper win.

      Tom:

I’m feeling cautiously optimistic about this! All those Shield / Wyatts matches were great, and while none of these guys are quite the novelties that they once were, there could still be something good going on here.

It’s a show littered with tag matches so hopefully they’re aware of that and do something to stand out. I’m also assuming that Ambrose turns heel, because God knows he needs to – he’s become hideously stale in recent months and he’s far more interesting as a jerk.

      Interest Level: 6/10
Prediction: Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper win.

Team Bella (Nikki, Brie and Alicia Fox) vs. Team B.A.D (Sasha Banks, Naomi and Tamina) vs. PCB (Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch)

      Joey:

We all know this is going to be a spotfest and I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully Paige, Charlotte and Tamina don’t slow everyone else down. I’m very happy about getting to see Sasha Banks wrestle two big matches on back to back nights. I definitely think the PCBSCBSBB team is getting the win here with Charlotte getting the glory. Shocker.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: PCB wins.

      Tim:

I’m really not liking the team thing they’ve got going on as it really takes away from any character development. Not quite a revolution if you’re not creating intriguing female characters for people to get behind or boo at. Anyway, this match has more than enough talent in it to be good and I am looking forward to it. I think the wrong team is being focused on a lot as Charlotte and Paige are merely okay but at least Becky Lynch is in that group.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Team PCB wins.

      Tom:

I’m a little bummed out by this, frankly. All of the recent NXT call-ups deserve to be on the main roster and Nikki Bella really has become a pretty excellent and deserving long-term champion, but relentlessly pushing the concept of the “Divas revolution” instead of focussing on any of them as individual attractions seems very short-sighted. No-one has a defined role right now – Paige and her mates are blandly nice, Team BAD are blandly mean and Team Bella are somewhere in-between.

Anyway, the match should be fun, albeit frantic. I think they’ll get a decent amount of time, but given that it’s divided between nine women, I still don’t know if it’ll be enough for more than a couple of them to really shine. Hopefully, we’ll see at least a couple of singles feuds emerge from this match, rather than having the attention be on everyone and no-one as it is now.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Team Bella wins.

Seth Rollins vs. John Cena for the WWE World Championship and WWE United States Championship

      Joey:

I love that both titles are on the line making this less predictable and I have faith this won’t be a BS DQ finish. I’m predicting these two finally have a MOTY candidate together and are the high point of the show. Both options seem possible but I think John Cena is winning the title. I can more easily see Cena with both belts than Rollins. As long as Sheamus isn’t involved here, I will call it a success.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: John Cena wins.

      Tim:

This match should be really awesome as these two can bring the goods. When Sheamus, hot off his show-stealing match with “The Viper” Randy Orton, comes down and cashes in will be when things get really interesting.

      Interest Level: 8/10
Prediction: Sheamus cashes in and accidentally wins the U.S. Championship.

      Tom:

Both belts being on the line adds an interesting wrinkle to things, though I still think there was plenty of juice left in the gimmick of John Cena: Fighting US Champion. I’m trying hard to ignore how Sheamus might be involved in the finish, because that’s definitely a worst case scenario (unless he accidentally pins the wrong guy and ends up winning the US title, which would be hilarious).

The general assumption is that old Cena will be winning this one, but… look, they talked about Seth getting his own statue if he were to retain, and I can very easily imagine silly antics involving a Seth Rollins statue so I’m going to have to pick him here. I want to see that statue!

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Seth Rollins wins.

      The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

      Joey:

Not sure what to expect here but hopefully Undertaker can redeem himself and get the match with Brock Lesnar that he wanted to. However, Lesnar needs to and definitely will get the win with ‘Taker shaking his hand afterwards to close the chapter. I have some hope as this will be my first time seeing Brock live and I’m trying to be optimistic.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Brock Lesnar wins.

      Tim:

I have no hope for this one but would love to be surprised. I want to tell myself that The Undertaker can have at least one more great match but then I remember the Wyatt match and the Wrestlemania 30 Lesnar match. If Lesnar loses in any way it will be a huge mistake and I really think that’s what will be going down. I do have interest in this one though just because I want to see what the vibe of the arena is and I am curious as to what these two do.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: The Undertaker wins.

      Tom:

Undertaker must be conscious of what a disappointment their last match was, right? With all the dick-kicking he’s been dishing out lately, it definitely seems like he’s trying to paint himself as being more aggressive and brawler-like, rather than the stoic force of nature he’s been at recent Wrestlemanias. It’ll definitely be different to recent Brock matches, which will be… interesting. I’m guessing we’ll see a lot of brawling and antics and not so many suplexes.

Really though, I’ll be very alright if this a whole lot of smoke and mirrors – ‘Taker’s an old man now and I’d rather not see him get injured or concussed. I just hope it doesn’t get too brutally slow, because that’s what’ll really kill my interest in it. I’m guessing Brock wins, but Undertaker gets sufficient retribution for him to move the fuck on so we don’t have to see this match again.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Brock Lesnar wins.
