Seven Things: 7 Things I Hope Happen On RAW This Monday

    • Seven Things: 7 Things I Hope Happen On RAW This Monday

Welcome to Seven Things, a list that will run weekly and consist of very eclectic topics. These are of my opinions and doesn’t express the views of others on WrestlingOnEarth.

This week, I decided to go with a smaller Seven Things topic regarding this Monday’s episode of RAW. Despite not attending the show located about 15 minutes away from my home in Brooklyn, I am very much excited to see what happens. There are only two shows before Wrestlemania so every segment is valuable.

Reminder: If you have any suggestions for future lists, feel free to share them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter: @typicalROHfan.

Now, here are seven things I’m hoping will happen this week.

      7. A legend returns to enter the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The build for the battle royal has been unique in that many slightly relevant talents who you’d expect to have singles matches are in the Andre Memorial but no “sexy names” are in it yet. I’m hoping Chris Jericho or RVD returns to throw their names into the hat, adding some excitement or special feel to it. Jericho and Van Dam are the most realistic. I’d love and prefer a wacky name like Vader or my personal favorite, Sid to come around and destroy Miz as a way to enter the match.

      6. The Shield swerves

If you believe in respecting the integrity of Smackdown spoilers, I’m sorry on many levels. On Smackdown, The New Age Outlaws join Kane to beat down The Shield. We’re in for The Shield facing Team Attitude Era and I’m not for that. Of all the awesome Shield matches in the last 15 months, it would be a shame for this to be their Wrestlemania match. I’ll risk hot shot booking to get that match off the card.

Perhaps they do the 6 man on RAW this week and Ambrose turns to join the heel Authority squad? (My prediction for the actual Wrestlemania match) I wish they did the Rollins vs. Ambrose vs. Reigns triple threat or saved The Wyatt Family trios match for Wrestlemania. Just do anything to change this assumed match.

      5. The Miz returns

Hear me out – I have not turned heel on you! Miz will get booed and/or heckled in Brooklyn and when he’s on TV these days, he gets beat up in hilarious fashion.

How can you not want this?

      4. Batista vs. Randy Orton takes place

As mentioned before, the Brooklyn crowd is very vocal and snarky. With Daniel Bryan likely in the WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania canceling out the “Heckle overrated Evolution jack offs” match, I hope they make the originally planned Randy Orton vs. Batista singles match happen in a non-title effort at the show on Monday.

The cynical jerk in me wants to see this match happen at least once in an atmosphere where fans will clown on it.

      3. More video packages for Cena vs. Wyatt

Never in a million years did I expect to get sucked into caring about a John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt match in such little time. Last week, I heard WWE paid big money to use the rights to Eminem’s song “Legacy.” I’m a huge Eminem mark from childhood and really enjoy that recent song but it behooved me to wonder how they would fit that song into a wrestling video package.

Well, I learned never to doubt the brightest team WWE has – the folks who make the video packages. The Wyatt/Cena promos merged with the song was absolutely brilliant and I’m hoping they have a longer video on Monday with some of Cena’s rebuttal.

In an utterly stunning turn of events, I’m now more invested in Cena vs. Wyatt than I am Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. Speaking of…

      2. Brock Lesnar DESTROYS The Undertaker

Lesnar has to really fuck up ‘Taker on RAW, no? Don’t get me wrong. I know the match will be spectacular regardless of what happens on the journey to but I feel the segments so far have been “weak as fuck”, to use a popular term.

I felt the first segment should have been Lesnar putting ‘Taker through the table. Isn’t Brock the one who has something to prove in terms of making The Streak’s jeopardy get put in question? Why are they trying to sell that Undertaker as the underdog when he has yet to be in a vulnerable position since returning to sell his match vs. Lesnar? No mentions that Lesnar once destroyed Undertaker in 2002 unlike any other wrestler has and Taker has yet to pin him? Okay.

Lesnar has to do some damage to Taker this week. I’m talking an uncomfortable level beat-down that reminds you just how dangerous a human being Brock Lesnar is.

      1. Daniel Bryan loses his smile

Daniel Bryan is my favorite wrestler in the world and I’m beyond excited for Wrestlemania because of the changes involving him and his matches. Last week’s RAW attack by Triple H on him was so well done. One thing I’m hoping it causes to change is the attitude of Bryan, at least for now.

Well aware, I am, how valuable seeing his loveable smile is to the young fan base and his overall likeable persona but one facet I have not understood is why the first thing we see of him many weeks after being screwed over or attacked is him smiling in a face to face promo with Triple H. This needs to change on Monday.

Bryan has to show the intensity and cutthroat attitude I’ve seen him exhibit before. It may be more difficult to portray in the WWE landscape but Bryan could sell ice to a polar bear, water to a fish and tanning oil to The Miz. We need to see an angry Bryan fed up and ready to kick ass on Monday.
