      It’s a night. Of champions.

Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship

      Joey:

I’ve had no interest in this feud. The Miz is an effective heel but I tend to lose interest in his segments. Dolph Ziggler is one of the most unlikeable faces and has been exposed in the promos last few weeks. The Summerslam match was lackluster so this one should follow with average stuff.

      Interest Level: 3/10
Prediction: The Miz wins the Intercontinental title.

      Tim:

I don’t find either of these people very good at their current roles. Dolph Ziggler is just another unlikable face and The Miz seems like he’s trying too hard as usual. I can’t get into this and want it to be over. I’m sorry Sandow had to be associated with this.

      Interest Level: 1/10
      Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins.

      Tom:

No thanks! This whole deal has been pretty excruciating, even if I do still get a mild kick out of my main man D. Sandow cosplaying as Michael ‘The Miz’ Mizanin.

      Interest Level: 1/10
      Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins.

The Usos vs. Goldust and Stardust for the Tag Team Championship

      Joey:

I like all four wrestlers but they haven’t gotten me into this at all. The Usos have lost most of their momentum so the big sell here to me is how successful can Goldust and Stardust be as a heels and will the fans boo them?

      Interest Level: 4/10
Prediction: Goldust and Stardust win the tag titles.

      Tim:

I am not very enthralled in this storyline. It always just seems empty and like there isn’t a full commitment to a certain direction which is a shame because all four guys can be so much more. The match itself should be entertaining though, as both teams are talented.

      Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Goldust and Stardust win the tag titles.

      Tom:

I’m looking forward to this! The build has kinda sucked and everything’s a little too wishy-washy in terms of who is and isn’t a dick, but I’m still onboard the Stardust train. The Usos are still capable of greatness too, despite being a bit of a non-entity in recent weeks.

      Interest Level: 7/10
Prediction: Goldust and Stardust win the tag titles.

Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the United States Championship

      Joey:

These two are among the best in wrestling right now when it comes down to strictly in ring work but they haven’t had the GREAT match I’ve been looking for yet in their earlier battles this year. Here’s to hoping we see it at Night of Champions. At worst, it will be a very good hard hitting match.

      Interest Level: 8/10
Prediction: Cesaro wins the United States title.

      Tim:

These two will hopefully go all out and have the match they were made to have against each other. The build, while not very prominent, has been pretty easy-going and not over-complicated. I’m excited about the match, not necessarily because of the build but it definitely didn’t take away from my excitement.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

      Tom:

YES PLEASE. Things have been pretty simple between these two but that’s just fine by me. Both are just quietly getting on with being good stuff and I feel like they’re likely to have the match of the night*.

      *That doesn’t involve Brock Lesnar.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

Paige vs. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship

      Joey:

I was critical of Paige’s work when she debuted on the main roster after a few lackluster performances but she’s been very impressive lately. It’s easy to forget how young she is and you can see her gaining confidence as each week grows. I’m on the Mustard Bandwagon! Obviously, AJ is very good too. Then there’s Nikki Bella who is just awful in every way possible. I’m actually interested in seeing how this plays out. Hopefully Paige retains but I think Nikki is going to get it as they set up Bella vs. Bella for the belt.

      Interest Level: 7/10
Prediction: Nikki Bella wins the Butterfly title.

      Tim:

This probably will not be a good match but I am anticipating it. I want to see how Paige handles the type of wrestler Nikki Bella is. Bad. Bad is the type of wrestler Nikki is. I think Paige is great and she’s really still coming into her own on the main roster. It’s unfortunate that it’s probably coming to an end here as I think they’re heading to Brie vs Nikki for the title, which sounds very bad to me.

      Interest Level: 6/10
Prediction: Nikki Bella wins the Diva’s title.

      Tom:

I’d have been happy seeing another AJ/Paige one-on-one match-up, to be honest. I know they’ve had a few already but they still haven’t completely clicked and I’m curious to see how good they could be. That’s not to disregard “Fearless” Nikki Bella, of course, who… I mean, I’m kinda fascinated to see what she’ll do here. I sort of enjoy her in the role of the Lex Luger of the Divas division and I know that makes me a bad person.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Paige wins.

      Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho

      Joey:

It’s not possible for me to care any less about anything as I do about this match.

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Randy Orton wins.

      Tim:

      Nah. No thanks.

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Randy Orton wins.

      Tom:

TIME TO GO HOME, 2014 CHRIS JERICHO (AND HEY, MAYBE TAKE RANDY ORTON WITH YOU).

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Randy Orton wins.

      Rusev vs. Mark Henry

      Joey:

I love these two and I hope they beat the shit out of each other. The RAW main event segment this week was a bit disappointing considering the position it was in but I still have faith this will be very fun and provide a great atmosphere.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

      Tim:

This has been fun outside of the main event thing that happened on Raw. I’m a huge MARK for Henry. Haha. Just a little biz humor there. If you are in the know you’ll think that was hilarious like I did when I typed it without second guessing it even once. This will hopefully be the hard-hitting match I want from these two men. Probably the match I’m looking forward to most outside of Cesaro vs Sheamus.

      Interest Level: 7/10
Prediction: Rusev wins and another layer of The American Dream dies. Not Dusty Rhodes.

      Tom:

I’m a big fan of good brother Henry and IMMIGRANT HERO Rusev. The rally shite on Raw was dumb BUT still cool that it finished the show and they’re putting a focus on this. Hopefully it’s relatively short and just great fun. I’m also hoping they DROP THE FLAG after Rusev’s victory, resulting in Jerry Lawler bursting into tears and peeing his pants.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

      Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns

      Joey:

These two had a clean 15 minute match on RAW. I’m expecting this means there’s some type of shenanigans happening in the PPV match. Kane will interfere and Dean Ambrose will return to save Roman Reigns.

I can see a scenario where Dean returns and attacks Reigns for not saving him yet going for the glory by beating Seth Rollins himself in the “Roman Reigns beats everyone” road to Wrestlemania but I think the safe route is where they will go.

      Interest Level: 6/10
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins by DQ.

      Tim:

If anyone can pull a decent singles match out of Reigns it should be Rollins. That wasn’t really the case on Raw where they had this match and Reigns won clean. That was pretty odd and not very satisfying to watch. In fact, it took away some of the hype I had for this PPV match. Rollins is amazing and is great at his role and I would love to see him get the title one day. I can not say the same for Roman Reigns. I’m assuming Ambrose returns here but that could be saved for Raw the next night.

      Interest Level: 5/10
Prediction: Seth Rollins wins by DQ.

      Tom:

I completely skipped their match on Raw so, I guess I’m able to still be pretty excited about this? Kind of? Old Seth is really very good and I can’t think of anyone else on the roster who’s more capable of hiding Reigns’ numerous weaknesses.

      Interest Level: 7/10
Prediction: Seth Rollins wins by DQ.

Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena for the WWE World Championship

      Joey:

John Cena is probably going to look like an equal in this match so it will provide a different dynamic than Summerslam. Not entirely sure what to expect but I predict Brock will get the win cleanly again. I think all the other titles will switch hands to play up that angle of the night of title changes going into the main events.

I am hoping for the Seth Rollins cash in. Rollins losing to Reigns cleanly on RAW and cutting a promo that seemed to foreshadow a cash in has given me some false hope but still think we see Brock retain.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Brock Lesnar wins.

      Tim:

I thought I’d be more excited for this than I am. I feel Cena wasn’t handled correctly after their last encounter and it took away from how I remembered and viewed it. It didn’t seem like the right time for a rematch. Anyway, the build hasn’t been that great outside of a couple of Heyman promos and Cena’s character seems more grating than usual.

All of that aside, he match itself should be more dynamic than the previous one since I doubt Cena will be beat that strongly again. I think these two will put on another great match. I’m worried about the outcome and that’s a good thing.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Brock Lesnar wins.

      Tom:

I’ll always give these two a 10/10 for interest – despite all the scuttlebutt about Brock’s schedule and the nonsense on Raw with Khali and Heyman, Brock and Cena are still capable of something special every time they’re in the ring together.

It seems like this time is set to be a little more competitive than their previous encounters – that could be a bad thing BUT it’s also something new. I’m expecting some level of bullshit with the finish, but we’ll see.

      Interest Level: 10/10
Prediction: John Cena wins the WWE World Championship.
