Brad Ward’s Podcast Adventures: WasimCast (8/13/2015)

Our friend and favorite wrestling superfan Brad Ward has dipped his toe into the world of podcasting and TJ Hawke is here to recap the astonishing results. Take it away, TJ!

Brad Ward, noted Cesaro cosplayer, is one of the premiere content providers on Twitter Dot Com. However, anyone with good sense knows that you must diversify your brand in order to stay streets ahead or you risk becoming a jabroni mark.

If you’re a jabroni mark, your banter suffers. When your banter suffers, your numbers go down. When your numbers go down, your brand is left in tatters. You might as well just jump off a bridge or sign a contract with TNA at that point.

Brad has wisely decided to jump into the Wrestling Podcast Game as it looks like it’s going to stick around for a while. What follows is a rundown of Brad Ward giving this WasimCast gimmick the rub by appearing on their pitiful podcast.

Highlights from Brad’s appearance on the WasimCast

    0:00 – 20:55

Brad Ward does not appear on the podcast during this period. No reason to listen to it.

    20:55 – 23:00

Brad Ward graces the podcast with his presence finally, and it immediately leads to a delightful anecdote of Yoshi Tatsu burying Chikara. The magic of Brad Ward.

    23:00 – 24:15

Brad Ward buries Dalton Castle and explains how he pays for TNA ONO PPVs.

    24:25 – 25:30

Brad Ward tries to talk about a “bra & panties” MMA fed.

    25:30 – 26:00

Brad Ward buries Chikara Blu-Rays. Continue reading

    Brad’s Wrestlemania NXT Experience

Find out what everyone’s favorite wrestling superfan Brad Ward did during Wrestlemania weekend. Take it away, Brad!

(You can follow Brad on Twitter: @BradFGN)

This year’s Wrestlemania weekend is truly when NXT had its arrival. In past years the NXT fan ring was focused on matches featuring lower card WWE talents but this year WWE brought Full Sail to WWE Wrestlemania weekend in a couple ways. What WWE did was they brought the NXT arena with the apron trons, the jumbo tron above the ring, the ring announcers, the superstars and the championships. In the past the MC’s of the Fan Axxess ringside area would refer to it as the WWE ringside era this time they referred to it as the NXT Universe. NXT while still developmental is now becoming a brand.

My trip started Saturday, March 28th 2015 leaving from the Calgary airport around 6:30 AM for sunny San Jose, California. The original plan was to attend Axxess only that Saturday Night, but instead we ended up making it to San Jose Convention Center around 1:03 PM, we arrived at the hotel at noon and made it there just 3 minutes later, while we had a massive lineup to make it in to the festivities we made it.

    2014 Bradbserver Awards

If it was good I will say it’s good, if it sucks Michael Elgin was probably involved.

We gave Brad Ward the platform to deliver his 2014 Bradserver Awards and things got wild. Enjoy!

Every year we watch a ton of pro wrestling and some of us Mixed Martial Arts and it really can be very had to pick out what was truly great and what truly was a dud. A ton of tape was watched to come to the conclusion where I will list combat sports that wowed me and the combat sports that made say wow that sucked. As some of you know I am also a big video gamer as well, which in some ways made me such a fan of wrestling and MMA. So at the end I will post about my favourite video games at the end. Lets get to the ceremonies!

Lou Thesz/Ric Flair Male Award: Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura in my eyes was part of a an elite group that when you saw him make his entrance he came off like a legit star.

Most Outstanding Wrestler Male: Seth Rollins

When you saw Seth Rollins was wrestling, even surrounded by The Authority, he was incapable of having a bad match.

    Lou Thesz/Ric Flair Female: Charlotte

A true case of genetically superior DNA. She is a freak athlete in the sense her wrestling DNA is that of a wrestler that has wrestled for years, she has a bright future in the WWE.

    Most Outstanding Wrestler Female: Natalya

In ring she had great matches with the likes of Nikki, Paige and Charlotte and much like Seth Rollins was incapable of having a bad match. Also one of the sweetest you will meet in the business.

Best Box Office Draw: John Cena

John Cena is the horse as the Hulkster has said and John Cena is the man few have stepped up to his spot and most have failed. 2015 perhaps may be challenging for Cena with Bryan and Reigns looking to take a piece of that pie.

This Or That: CM Punk vs. The World (12/2/2014)

Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.

Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @BradFGN and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Joey tried to test out Question #4 and is now injured. Brad Ward is taking his spot this week because he’s the best in the world.

Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:

Who would you rather see face Triple H at Wrestlemania 31?

    Sting – 58%, The Rock – 42%

    Better 90’s fan sign movement?

    Austin 3:16 – 74%, RVD 4:20 – 26%

    Better Thanksgiving day tradition?

    The Macy’s Parade – 64%, NFL games – 36%

    Better Thanksgiving meal treat?

    Cranberry jelly – 61%, Candied yams – 39%

Who do you side with: CM Punk or Triple H?

    Political wrestling war.

Starting this thing out with a really hard one, eh? I think McMahon, Triple H, and the overall WWE backstage environment is more to blame for anything that happened with Punk leaving. I think CM Punk is unlikable and grumpy but he definitely had star power and deserved better long-term. I at least don’t see Punk as a huge liar.

There is too much out there about how Triple H is backstage for there not to be some truth to it. Neither guy is perfect but I have to side with Punk on most things when it comes to WWE as most of the people with any power there are seemingly selfish hell-people.

    CM Punk

Man. I mean, there’s a lot going on here. Are we ascribing Punk getting fired on his wedding day as being a Triple H action? Or Punk not getting proper medical attention? If so, I’d unquestionably side with Punk.

However, I think if we’re just blaming Triple H on how Punk was booked, then things get a little fuzzier. Yeah, the Cena/Rock Wrestlemania rematch was lame as FUCK, but I don’t know if Punk being added to make it a three-way would have been much better as his match with ‘Taker was pretty much the only worthwhile thing about that show and I can’t think of many other guys who would have been better placed in that position. Also, while his losses to Rock and Brock didn’t do him too many favours, I can kind of understand the reasoning – by the time he lost the belt, it seemed like Punk was never going to re-sign so using him to maintain established part-time stars who you could assume would be available for years to come sort of makes sense.

I dunno, man. Triple H has definitely been on a charm offensive for the past year or so in trying to win over the hardcore fans, but I think there’s still a certain selfish, vindictive streak that he’ll never really shake. As hard as Punk might be to work with, I get the impression that he’ll be honest about things whereas Triple H seems more likely to lie to your face if it means keeping the peace while he gets his way.

    CM Punk

    Brad Ward:

CM Punk did bring up some valid arguments, but only some. I don’t think Triple H was ever out to get CM Punk but I do think Triple H is inexperienced on how to do business and slightly naive. The whole deal with CM Punk saying Triple H needed to fight Punk was really silly. So I am siding with King Paul.

    Triple H

Brad Ward’s BlogaMania: Part V (Brad Gets Raw)

Wrestling superfan Brad Ward takes us on a trip; HIS trip. From Canada to New Orleans, enjoy Brad’s daily antics leading up to Wrestlemania 30 with Brad Ward’s BlogaMania. Take it away, Brad!

Welcome to my Wrestlemania week blog, where I will detail, star rate and fill your eyes with pictures and sometimes videos of New Orleans. Wrestlemania week is more to me then WWE’s biggest show of the year. It is seeing an entire year of stories and superstars build to one week to see who is going to be the next new star. It is the chance to see friends and colleagues. It is seeing Superstars live and just taking in what you talk about for a year in front of your own eyes.

This is Wrestlemania week, it’s time to be cool and eat fruit.

MONDAY: Jimmy John’s, KaRawoke and public BDSM.

I sleep in to 9AM and start the day pretty early, as we want to hunt down the famous New Orleans delicacy called beignets. On the way to finding them, we stopped at a nearby convenience store to find the newspaper that has Daniel Bryan on the cover as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and talks about the Yes Movement.
