It’s time for hell in Hell In A Cell.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro in 2 out of 3 Falls Match for the Intercontinental Championship

      Joey:

The match should be good but it’s hard to care about the outcome. If I had to explain either of their characters or objectives right now, I’d have no idea what to say other than Ziggler is a terrible tweeter.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins.

      Tim:

These two are some of the best in-ring performers that WWE has and they have pretty good chemistry. I don’t really have a reason to be invested in this feud and that greatly subtracts from what could be an entertaining match. It’s just there. It comes off like creative would forget about it and just threw it together as filler every time these two would do something leading up to this.

Another thing that subtracts from my excitement and interest is the stipulation. Two out of three falls is a really good idea for a main event match or any match that gets enough time and has two superb wrestlers. These midcard matches aren’t built for that and usually have to speed up the falls to accommodate it. This leaves the competitor’s endurance not really fitting in with the rest of the card. There are these big leaps in logic and psychology to get these three pinfalls in so fast.

I’m not saying it can not be done in a short time correctly. Maybe these two can come up with something different and smart. Maybe I’m nitpicking but it’s usually very jarring and takes away from my immersion into the match. If anything it will be a solid bout. Cesaro is god-like and Ziggler is great when he’s wrestling.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins.

      Tom:

I haven’t watched more than about half an hour of Raw a week for a while now, so it’s hard to work up the effort to have opinions on this show. I like Cesaro a bunch and Ziggler is probably the best wrestler who I have a complete lack of interest in. I don’t know why this is 2 out of 3 falls but it could be decent???? RIGHT????????

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins.

Sheamus vs. The Miz w/Damien Mizdow for the United States Championship

      Joey:

Damien Sandow is the best thing on WWE TV by a mile. I think him getting a pinfall victory on RAW was to set the stage that he could beat Sheamus but Miz can’t. Sandow will accidentally cost Miz the match and do many more entertaining things.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

      Tim:

One of the few entertaining parts of watching wrestling right now is Damien Sandow. Weird thing? I have no interest in this match. I see them starting to set-up Miz vs Sandow after this as there have been hints toward it and seems like the natural progression here. I’m thinking The Miz (who is not good, by the way) somehow pulls the win out here. The match itself will be bland and Damien Sandow will distract from that.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: The Miz wins.

      Tom:

Save.Us_5and0w. Sheamus is plenty good but Miz is Miz. I can’t imagine it’ll go long, and yes, the sooner Sandow breaks away from Miz to be amazing by himself, the better.

      Interest Level: 5/10
      Prediction: Sheamus wins.

Goldust and Stardust vs. The Usos for the Tag Team Championship

      Joey:

      Blah.

      Interest Level: 3/10
      Prediction: Goldust and Stardust win.

      Tim:

The lack of tag teams is actually working to make me excited for The Ascencion moving up. Anything for more teams. Tag team wrestling is my favorite wrestling and WWE sucks at it. These two teams are wildly enjoyable but I can’t sit through this match-up again.

      Interest Level: 2/10
      Prediction: Stardust and Goldust win.

      Tom:

Has there been any build for this on TV? Are there literally no other tag teams in WWE right now aside from the Heath Slater thing with Titus O’Neill and Los Matadores? I REALLY LIKE BOTH THESE TEAMS BUT FUCK LET’S HAVE SOMETHING NEW.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Goldust and Stardust win.

Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella – Loser must be the winner’s personal assistant

      Joey:

This is bad. The stipulation indicates Nikki wins as the storyline is catered towards a heel making a face’s life miserable but I’d much prefer the alternative. Give me a Brie victory leading to Brie forcing Nikki to say kind things to others and handing out homemade organic, vegan, gluten-free cookies.

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

      Tim:

This whole thing has been embarrassing and dare I say it? I will. I will say it. This grandiose act of trash that they call a storyline has put a huge blemish on the already sterling reputation of The Bella Twins. The most likely outcome to this seems like the least creative route they could go. The match will be better than it would’ve been even a year ago but not enough to deserve any segment of my brain capacity for remembering this will-not-be-barn-burner at a later date.

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

      Tom:

      George Costanza, WWE writer.

      Interest Level: 2/10
      Prediction: “Fearless” Nikki Bella wins.

AJ Lee vs. Paige for the Divas Championship

      Joey:

In their final battle, maybe they’ll have the memorable match people are hoping for. I’m not sure what they’re going for with the friends storyline other than wanting to pair Paige and Alicia Fox together for the announcement of them coming to Total Divas.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: AJ Lee wins.

      Tim:

I don’t understand the stroryline anymore. Why is it what it is? What really was it before? Paige and AJ are good. I personally believe AJ is one of the best Divas in history. I’m hoping they go all in on this match. The last few were definitely missing something. Hopefully it’ll be the last one between these two for a bit.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Paige wins.

      Tom:

NOT SURE WHAT’S GOING ON WITH THIS ONE, SOZ. Are they both still crazy? Has Paige introduced a bottle of spicy Norwich mustard as her foreign object finisher yet? I hope it’s good but I’VE SEEN THESE TWO FIGHT ENOOOOOUUUUUGH I’M BOOOOOOOORED.

      Interest Level: 7/10
      Prediction: Paige wins.

      Big Show vs. Rusev

      Joey:

Whatever. Rusev is excellent. Big Show is a jerk. Mark Henry is turning heel. WHATEVER.

      Interest Level: 0/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

      Tim:

Rusev is excellent but this has been awful. Not much more to say besides Big show should retire.

      Interest Level: 3/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

      Tom:

Kick his head off, Rusev! Kick his head off and drop the flag and then beat up some more soldiers. Rusev, I love you.

      Interest Level: 8/10
      Prediction: Rusev wins.

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose inside Hell In A Cell

      Joey:

Everything between these two has been magic until the last weeks. It feels like the writing team have abandoned the idea that this is one of the most personal feuds of the last decade. Seth Rollins is more preoccupied with Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose is more preoccupied with trying his hand at prop comedy. I’m sure the match will deliver and be great but man, it’s just lame that they’ve really weakened the feud to some extent.

Ambrose wins clean to finally score his first victory over Seth Rollins. (Something they are not mentioning at all on WWE TV for some reason) Rollins will move right into a feud with Orton and I guess Ambrose does something with John Cena or Bray Wyatt.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Dean Ambrose wins.

      Tim:

If any two could make Hell In A Cell feel “dangerous” and important again, it’s these guys. I’m super excited even though the feud has died down for me over the last month. I think creative did quite the number on this and made it feel less intense between these men. They’ll still deliver and this is the most exciting match-up on the card.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Dean Ambrose wins.

      Tom:

I’m excited for this! The Hell In A Cell match has been played out for a SUPER LONG WHILE but, like I’ve said before, these two are always able to bring something unexpected to their stip matches. There’s an actual feeling of uncertainty to things, which is really fun. Hopefully, it doesn’t end up being dumb. PLEASE DON’T LET IT BE DUMB.

      Interest Level: 9/10
      Prediction: Dean Ambrose wins.

John Cena vs. Randy Orton inside Hell In A Cell – #1 Contenders Match

      Joey:

I actually have some interest in this. As much as I’m not a fan of him, I’d be down to see Randy Orton face Brock Lesnar once over another Brock vs. John Cena showdown. This is absolutely going to be the main event and I strangely have some hope for it to be good. I guess WWE’s brainwashing to make Orton/Cena a bigger deal than Rollins/Ambrose kind of worked on me.

      Interest Level: 6/10
      Prediction: Randy Orton wins.

      Tim:

I don’t want to see this again. I don’t think either would be an entertaining match-up for Lesnar at this point… especially Randy Orton. I want something fresh for Lesnar and neither of these would deliver that. This match has obviously been done to death. It is hard to make sense of the stipulation because this is the match Cena got because he lost to Dean Ambrose. A shot at being the number one contender. No thanks.

      Interest Level: 0/10
Prediction: hmm… John Cena wins? Yeah. I’m sticking with that.

      Tom:

I can’t deal with this. I’m sorry. I love you.

      Interest Level: 1/10
      Prediction: Randy Orton wins.
