    Sexy Wrestler of The Week

Back from TIME TRAVEL, I arrive in the present just in time to name The Sexy Wrestler of The Week

Well, I can’t tell you how I got back from the bizarro 1970’s because the government had to get involved but I can tell you I am happy to be back. Anyway, The big news is The Sexy Wrestler of The Week this time around is a first time winner!

    SWOTWAJStyles

Drawing inspiration from the most recent Impact In 5 Pictures Or Less, I have found the man you voted for out in the wild to snap a picture. I personally feel he deserves this award for having a career-revitalizing year and that is something everyone knows is “Sexy.” Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving. I did not get to celebrate because happiness was banned in the bizarro 1970’s.

    This Or That (11/26/2014)

Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.

Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeySplashwater and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:

Was the Montreal Screwjob a work?

    No – 87%, Yes – 13%

    Better original WWE PPV theme?

King of the Ring tournament – 60%, Survivor Series elimination matches – 40%

    Better Survivor Series MSG event?

    2002 – 67%, 1996 – 33%

    Superior fruit?

    Bananas – 52%, Apples – 48%

Who would you rather see face Triple H at Wrestlemania 31: The Rock or Sting?

Who should play THE GAME at Wrestlemania 31?

    rock-sting

    Tim:

I don’t think either match-up would be anything to write home about. The Rock didn’t impress me with any of his return matches and his promos make me dislike him so much. I am all for Sting vs Triple H in this scenario. It’s something different and I’m curious as to the direction they will go. I think Sting deserves a Wrestlemania retirement match and if not Undertaker I can settle for Triple H who is on top of his game this year.

    Sting

    Joey:

I’d much rather get The Rock vs. Triple H for the build. The Rock tries really hard to bring the “reality era” to his feuds when he returns as seen in his promos vs. CM Punk and John Cena. It didn’t work out too well but likely would be more suited for someone like Triple H given their past rivalry. I’d enjoy getting a kick out of the two having one more match. Sting and Triple H have no history and I’m not sure I trust the current WWE team to make up for them that makes sense.

    The Rock

    Tom:

It’s really hard to know how to place Sting at Wrestlemania. A match with Triple H seems most likely, but even if I’m fantasy booking something completely different, I can’t think of too many options that are more appealing. Undertaker, I guess? Though mostly for the entrances. Something with almost any of the younger guys would feel REALLY weird and there aren’t too many older guys left for him to roll around with.

Even so though, him and Triple H seem like an odd fit whereas I think The Rock and Triple H could be a decently fun time. There’s a lot of history to play on and I think the two are both pretty bulletproof as far as their positions go, so they can throw as many mean barbs back and forth without it leaving any lasting damage. UNLEASH THE HEAVY SHOTS, SURE HOPE THEY DESERVE THEM.

    The Rock

    • Roman Reigns’ next shirt will be just have the word “bitch” written on the front. It will be distasteful but bought by a lot of people.

    TNA

    • TNA has announced they will be moving to Destination America. Many people’s first destination after reading the news was Google to see if that was a real channel.

    • Robbie E and Brooke Adams made the final 5 of The Amazing Race. They likely didn’t win the grand prize money because Robbie E was seen selling 8×10’s at a Brooklyn church gym a month ago.

    • Abyss will be getting a new mask once TNA starts filming again. The new one will have horns as he will be presented as The Demon Abyss.

Fandango vs. someone on the pre-show

    Joey:

I like Johnny Curtis but the gimmick has no legs. Somehow Fandango has gone down in valet quality through the years and is at a new low with Rosa Mendes.

    Interest Level: 1/10
    Prediction: Fandango wins.

    Tim:

Two of my least favorite wrestlers in a match. Fandango? Nah. Horrible character. Someone? Nah again. Have you seen their haircut? Total jobbers here. I’ll be skipping the pre-show getting myself pumped for the actual event. Who will survive this series? Probably not me.

    Interest Level: 0/10
    Prediction: Someone wins.

    Tom:

I fucking love Fandango, though mostly as a commentary presence. I still think back to him doing a Fonzie impression on a Raw a few months ago and it just being the most amazing thing. No idea what this is all about but I can confirm that it’s one of the few things I’m looking forward to.

    Interest Level: 9/10
    Prediction: Fandango is amazing.

Team Paige (Paige, Cameron, Layla and Summer Rae) vs. Team Fox (Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya)

    Joey:

Good grief. Maybe it will turn into Paige vs. Naomi.

    Interest Level: 0/10
    Prediction: Team Paige wins.

    Tim:

Paige has three good opponents on the other team in Naomi, Nattie, and Emma. It doesn’t matter though. This match will be quick and oh my god at the roll-ups.

    Interest Level: 3/10
    Prediction: Team Paige wins.

    Tom:

Alicia Fox is a goodie now? What’s going on? WHAT’S GOING ON?

    Interest Level: 2/10
Prediction: Everyone gets eliminated in about four minutes.

    Sexy Wrestler of The Week

Something bad happened to me so let’s name The Sexy Wrestler of The Week right now. Oh god.

Okay. I will not be able to count your votes because they are all at home on my desk and I’m in THE 70’s! Or at least I think I am. Let me tell you about my day.

It hasn’t been good. I picked up a rusty knife that was sitting outside of my window and was instantly transported to this weird place. I vomited everywhere and I am not about to change into these ridiculous clothes everyone is wearing. It smells like a damned skunk everywhere I go and if someone is wearing a suit it looks like it is two sizes too big for them. Same as it ever was? I think not.

It doesn’t seem like the 70’s I have read about in modern magazines mainly because the sky is pure white, Ford and Nixon are BOTH presidents, and there are TWO oil crises going on. Also, there are ghosts of people that are still alive? This sucks. I can’t even watch animated films because all they have is hand-drawn bullshit. My eyes aren’t made out of cavemen, sorry. Where the fuck is Pixar?!

I don’t know if I will ever get back but I will be able to communicate because they have wi-fi here at this Wendy’s. All I know is that this is definitely The 70’s because the date on this newspaper clearly says “The 70’s” and a lot of faces you’ve seen floating around on VH1 are here but all they do is point and say “I love this.”

    SWOTWBrunoSammartino

I can’t count your votes this week so I am declaring Bruno Sammartino The Sexy Wrestler of The Week because I am a true wrestling fan and only keep pictures of him on my laptop (which is now wood panelled) at all times. Hopefully I can get back to the real world where I can actually open beer cans without hurting myself.

    * The word going around backstage at last night’s Turning Point pay-per-view was that Scott Hall no-showed the event due to “food poisoning.” There was a tremendous amount of backstage heat on Hall as the company had been promoting the return of The Outsiders for weeks.

Wade Keller is reporting that it is unknown if Kevin Nash was really upset following Samoa Joe’s promo where he was grouped with Scott Hall. Nash was said to be in a pretty good mood leading into the pay-per-view.

    12/3/2007

    * TNA President Dixie Carter held a meeting today offering everyone in the company their release if they wanted it. Only Senshi (aka Low Ki) took up Carter’s offer. So well, it looks like he’s through with TNA.

    AJ Styles – 65%, Ricochet – 35%

Was the Montreal Screwjob a work: Yes or No?

Was it planned all along or was it…. real?

    ToTBret

    Tim:

It was totally a work. Don’t be a jab tonier nerd. It might have worked itself into a shoot but I think it was mostly a work. The timing of The Wrestling With Shadows documentary being filmed to a lot of the way things went down after the match on-air seem highly suspicious to me. I don’t really know. Part of me wants to think it was real but I really would like to think it was a stroke of genius and was really a work.

    Yes

    Joey:

The stellar Wrestling With Shadows documentary always makes me question if it was a work with the convenience of it being filmed but I can’t imagine it being all staged out so perfectly. Wrestling is full of egos and there’s no way that either Bret or Shawn wouldn’t have blurted out it was a work at some point during their time periods on the outs with WWE.

    No

    Tom:

Was it a work? No. However, I do have my suspicions that Bret was a jabronie mark without a life that don’t know it a work when you work a work and work yourself into a shoot. I do wish we could get a 2014 version of Wrestling With Shadows though. Imagine if a documentary crew had been following CM Punk right around the time he walked out, what a great time that’d be. Just ol’ Philip Brooks saying obnoxious things and then some delicious backstage bust-ups.

    No

News for The Week of November 17, 2014

    WWE

    • With The Great Khali’s departure, WWE will be donating the bamboo that made up The Punjabi Prison to the World Wildlife Fund to show there is no ill will.

    • Roman Reigns was the main wrestler spokesman for WWE 2K15 because WWE thought that if a wrestler who was not ready for the big stage hyped a game that was not ready for release, they would cancel each other out.

    • Dean Ambrose makes little anarchy signs in his alphabet soup using the O’s and A’s. He throws all of the other letters up against a wall.

    TNA

    • With TNA’s future in doubt, Taz is petitioning NJPW to start “The Bullet Club: Black and Orange.”

    • Ethan Carter III is going to be out 3-6 months with injury aka until TNA returns to TV.

    • TNA will cater to nostalgia and hype it’s debut on a new channel with the return of the four-sided ring.

    • Between having to miss PWG shows next year and Michael Elgin‘s general existence, it’s been a very difficult month for the ROH locker room.

    • The Honky Tonk Man is probably whining and complaining somewhere about something right now.

    • Lance Storm wants more Fritos in his fast food.

    Bret Hart’s sunglasses – 80%, The Rock’s elbow pad – 20%

    More exciting 2015 debut?

    Daniel Bryan’s book – 56%, Avengers: Age of Ultron – 44%

    Taz – 84%, Michael Elgin – 16%

    Better Pixar film?

    Up – 55%, Finding Nemo – 45%

Better authority figure: Steve Austin or Mick Foley?

Who was better as a general manager/commissioner of WWE?

    austinfoley

    Tim:

Steve Austin never seemed right as the GM to me. He had some funny moments but it seemed against character in a few ways not to mention he was still probably the most entertaining part of the show every week and could easily overshadow many of the active wrestlers. Mick Foley was fun and brought an enjoyable vibe to the show. It is always nice to have a face authority figure and I believe Mick Foley was one of the best.

    Mick Foley

    Joey:

Steve Austin was entertaining as co-GM with Eric Bischoff but his personality and star power would overtake the show. Mick Foley did an excellent job at being endearing and adding some entertaining segments but was just a guy who happened to be commish.

I’d say Foley was the best authority figure WWE had in the baby face role. When I watch 2003 RAW episodes or PPV’s, I look out for Austin segments. When I watch 2001 WWE content, I forget Foley was the Commissioner and am greeted with some pleasant memories.

    Mick Foley

    Tom:

I was having a sabattical from wrestling while Stone Cold was Raw’s sheriff, though from what I’ve seen, it seems like it made for some great moments. However, Mick Foley’s run as commissioner was unbeatable and that period still stands as my favourite in WWE history. If I had to pick one of them to come back to be commish these days though, I’d have to go for ol’ Stone Cold – I really enjoy his new ‘podcast dad’ persona, whereas Foley can be a little cringey sometimes.

    Mick Foley
