    * As reported earlier, there is a behind-the-scenes battle in regards to Rob Van Dam going on the annual trip to Iraq. The company wants him to go, but due to safety issues, they can’t force him to go as part of the job. It is understood that the voluntary nature of the trip is due to legal reasons, but when asked to go, you should probably go. Apparently, Van Dam used that loop hole to not go two years ago, and when asked to go on this year’s trip, he said he was not interested in going. Right now, nobody knows as to how this thing will play out.

The show is being taped sometime next week. As reported earlier, there is a behind-the-scenes battle in regards to Rob Van Dam going on the annual trip to Iraq. * 1Wrestling.com is reporting that Rob Van Dam‘s WWE contract is set to expire in the next six months or so – and he is counting down the days until it is up. Several backstage sources are saying that he is frustrated with how things have gone in ECW as of late, not to mention that he said to be miserable.

Some people backstage are wondering if Sabu is trying to get released due to his recent behavior. Sabu has gotten a lot of heat as of late for falling asleep backstage at a show, as well as for other unprofessional behavior. One source said, “It’s almost as if he’s trying to get fired.”

    12/4/2006

    * In a follow-up to the earlier report on ECW.com of Paul Heyman being sent home by Vince McMahon, apparently, this really isn’t some sort of storyline. PWInsider.com is reporting that that word going around backstage is that Paul Heyman has really been let go by the company. A meeting is currently ongoing with ECW talents regarding Heyman’s departure.

Internally, it is being said that Vince McMahon was absolutely irate in regards to how awful last night’s ECW PPV was. Furthermore, McMahon was looking to put the blame on someone for it, and that person is Paul Heyman. The theory for the blame on Heyman is, “he is caught in the past and doesn’t understand the new vision of ECW.”

Problems started yesterday when most everyone realized that the ECW PPV was quite awful to say the least. Heyman was unhappy with how the show was booked and he voiced his concerns before and after the show. There were issues between Heyman and McMahon because of how the show played out on TV, with most everyone knowing that it was a disaster. Furthermore, the problems carried over from last night, and it led to something occuring backstage at today’s RAW/ECW taping.

At 2:00 P.M., Heyman had a meeting with Vince and Stephanie McMahon. Heyman came out of the meeting looking as if nothing happened. Nobody had any idea that there was anything wrong between the two parties. Shortly thereafter, Heyman gathered his belongings and left the building to go home.

Anyways, the word going around backstage is that Heyman is legitimately done with the company and this really isn’t some sort of storyline.

    Sexy Wrestler of The Week

Hey, everyone. Let’s get a little wild and name The Sexy Wrestler of The Week!

Today is yet another momentous occasion. We will be naming The Sexy Wrestler of The Week yet again. This is what we all live for. The excitement. The thrill. The significant rush of emotions. This is why we all wake up in the morning.

it is time to see democracy at work.

    SydalSWOTW

There it is. The Sexy Wrestler of The Week is Matt Sydal. Forget the stresses of modern day life while breathing in those bashful eyes. Study the tilted head of a high-flying Adonis. Become one with hair that was shaped by the thoughts of an exotic bird. Open your mind’s eye and swim across the brilliant wrinkles and lines that tell a deep story that can probably be summed up with “I’ve been through some stuff but weed chilled me out, man.”

    This Or That (8/19/2014)

Everybody loves binary decisions, especially wrestling fans! In This Or That, we’ve forced ourselves to choose between two options that relate to wrestling.

Over four questions, @TimWelcomed, @JoeySplashwater and @TomBlargh will have to choose one of two options and give their reasoning on each of their choices. You can then vote on which one you’d choose, giving you the false impression that you’re somehow involved and we care about your opinion chance to join the conversation!

Before we start, here’s last week‘s results:

Should the WWE champion ever be a “part time” wrestler?

    Yes – 82%, No – 18%

    Lower moment from Raw?

    Megan Miller – 70%, “Deportlandia” – 30%

Which birthday party would you rather attend?

    Billy Kidman’s – 60%, Hulk Hogan’s – 40%

More loved Robin Williams ’90s family film?

    Jumanji – 53%, Mrs. Doubtfire – 47%

Who would you rather see face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31: Roman Reigns or The Rock?

They’re cousins or something, and also two of the most likely opponents for Brock at ‘Mania, but which one would you rather see Lesnar face?

    rock-roman-reigns

    Tim:

Can I pick neither? I just don’t feel like watching either match. I do believe the right choice is to have an up-and-comer take down the monster that is Lesnar but to really maximize on it the guy would have to be able to make you sympathize with him (like Daniel Bryan…). Reigns does not have this. He hasn’t looked to good without The Shield and has not given me one reason to believe he can carry the company.

A potential match with The Rock would be excruciatingly boring but if that means Lesnar wins I say this is the way to go until you find the right person to beat Lesnar. It would be a shame to waste such a potentially huge star-making moment on someone who will flounder out.

    The Rock

    Joey:

I have to go with my main man The “Dwayne” Rock as the kids on the internet like to call him. These two had a match at Summerslam 2002 that was one of my favorite matches of all time. A rare match I can watch from childhood or teen years today and not feel the need to fast forward when watching.

Obviously the match wouldn’t be as good as they were both 12 years younger and active wrestlers but at least I’ve seen these two have a good match before. I’m still waiting for a very good Roman Reigns singles match. Also, Rock vs. Brock is the biggest money match WWE can do so I’ll take the spectacle with potential to be memorable over the one that’s based around hoping Reigns is the next guy and nothing more than wishful thinking.

    The Rock

    Tom:

I still think The Rock has another special match in him – he’s certainly not the guy I most want to see fight Brock, but I’d be interested. Meanwhile, I think Roman Reigns is a good two or three years away from being even CLOSE to capable of having a match with Lesnar that’s anything more than the snoozefests Brock had with Triple H.

    The Rock

News for The Week of August 18, 2014

    WWE

    • Sources say Kevin Dunn is petitioning for Brock Lesnar’s first title defense to be a literal handicap match against Bo Dallas and Adam Rose, which will only end once the former NXT superstars have been legitimately crippled.

    • Jack Swagger is so worried that Vince McMahon will forget about him now that his feud with Rusev is over that he has been following important WWE management personnel around and doing his awkward push-ups in front of them to show off.

    • Ryback airbrushes all of his own singlets. Last week a WWE crew was sent to his home to film him going through the process but has decided not to air it because they found out he really just puts the paint in his mouth and spews it out onto the attire randomly.

    TNA

    • TNA’s move to Wednesday nights is being looked at by Dixie Carter as a positive. She has told numerous people that she loves that camel that says “Hump Day” and thinks he would be a huge ratings boost if they could use him in their commercials. If they can’t get him she says she thinks she can teach one of her horses to say it.

    • Bully Ray has announced he will be leaving TNA, leading to the rest of the roster being instructed to increase the casual homophobia and misogyny in their promos to make up for his absence. Mr. Anderson is reportedly thrilled at this new opportunity.

    • Abyss is being pitched to replace Bully Ray in the planned Wolves vs. Hardys vs. Team 3D TLC match because “he was going to fall off ladders and go through tables anyway.”

    Other

    • Global Force Wrestling has announced that they have a cross-promotional deal set with Wrestling Retribution Project. It should be noted that Jeff Jarrett also said he’s working on bringing back All Wheels Wrestling.

    • With both Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio set to join AAA, look for WWE to bring back Juan Cena in order to retain their Latino viewership.

    • Lance Storm lies about being an astronaut to skip lines and get free grilled cheese sandwiches.

    What could go wrong?

    Summerslam 2014 Preview and Predictions

Summerslam. On the WWE Network. Insert overdone $9.99 joke.

    WWE SummerSlam 2014

Giving their thoughts and predictions on what to expect from the PPV are members of the site @JoeySplashwater, @TimWelcomed and @TomBlargh.

Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam (pre-show match)

    Joey:

RVD and Jericho should just form a tag team of old guys fans love who aren’t as good as they used to be. Put them against the Uso’s and Cesaro against Wyatt. I just saved Summerslam. Boom.

    Interest Level: 1/10
Prediction: RVD wins because Cesaro has to lose.

    Tim:

Well… at least Cesaro has a match? They’re sure making that Andre The Giant trophy cry.

    Interest Level: 0/10
    Prediction: Cesaro wins.

    Tom:

Welcome to the Attitude Era, Cesaro, YAH BASTARD!!!

    Interest Level: 2/10
Prediction: Robert Van Daminator wins with one of his spectacular moves from 1999.

The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship

    Joey:

I can’t get into this feud but Ziggler has been on a roll lately. Miz is still the lamest. Ziggler’s in ring talent will probably help the match over-deliver but I don’t have any excitement or interest in this one.

    Interest Level: 3/10
    Prediction: The Miz wins.

    Tim:

Not invested in this one at all. I’m sure Dolph Ziggler will make this a little better of a match. Not really much else to say about it besides that Miz still isn’t doing anything for me. I’m sure he’s going to retain the title. That’s what is best for Dolph anyway.

    Interest Level: 2/10
    Prediction: The Miz wins.

    Tom:

Man, fuck this show. I’m not looking forward to this match. Are you? If so, why? Is it because you still like seeing Ziggler bounce around and do stuff? Is it because Miz is wearing sunglasses now? Please let me know ASAP.

    Interest Level: 1/10
Prediction: The Miz wins. Continue reading
